In which case I guess it would make sense to purchase directly from the site as opposed to the MAS as there are no limitations within the software (i.e. Dropbox folder having to be in a specific place etc).

EDIT: Actually having just read the post by Khad, it appears the best approach is to purchase from the MAS, and then should the need arise, contact Agile to generate a v3.8 license so that the website version of the app can be used.

I haven't found the MAS version to be too restrictive. Whenever possible, I prefer to make MAS purchases. It gives me a license to all of my Macs (currently 8)... plus I like the ease of upgrade. MAS identifies updates asynchronously with usage. By contrast... "in-app" upgrades typically occur on product launch... exactly the time when you need to use the app... and upgrading just slows you down.
