2.2.1 Battery Life Improved

Why were you saying the numerical battery option was in 2.2.1 when you say right there its because its jailbroken?

The phone was jailbroke BEFORE the 2.2.1 update. After the update the phone kept the numeric battery meter. Theres a thread regarding this (numeric meter still there after update).

Yesterday was my first really full day with 2.2.1, I left my house at 9am and got back at 1am. I had to charge my phone fully 3 times. With 2.2 I only had to charge it twice. Why? I stream music to my phone.

Also 2.2.1 is a lot less stable for me, my apps are hanging and crashing constantly. My phone isn't jail brorken either. All that and the sudden lack of 3G in 5 places during my commute here in los angeles has me dying to see competition in this market. I'm tired of the crappy service and I'm tired of everything crashing. Sorry for rant.

Well all I know is I couldnt make it a full day through school with my ipod in sleep mode with location services on and moderate useage throughout the day.

The only thing I changed was turning location services off and I get MUCH improved battery life.

Why this is I havent the foggiest...

I have Location Services On all the time and usually my battery lasts 2 days with moderate use. If I turn it off the battery lasts exactly the same.

If I remember correctly... Location Services USED to drain the batter in 2.0 days... they fixed that in 2.0.1 or 2.0.2 or something. Now, you no longer have to worry about it. Just keep it on and don't use Maps if you're worried about it.

Quite the opposite really

Battery life has been a little worse than normal since I went up to 2.2.1

Nothing too bad but almost 20 minutes less than what I previously had
