I was on the bubble about buying this but I'm glad I did! I didn't use ANY of these applications until downloading the mac heist package.

My favorite are...
SousChef - Might actually get me to cook something other than Rayman noodles
World of Goo - AWESOME game
PhoneView - Use your iphone for storage
LittleSnapper - Very cool screen shot application, they even give you a web account and storage
The Hit list - Great for organizing ideas/ planning things out
Espresso - Incredibly powerful web editor
Times - Absolutely awesome RSS reader

Agreed, this may not be the best MH bundle where many apps were so tempting, this one is still useful for one or two apps definitely. At least Acorn, picturesque, wire tap, delicious has been mentioned in many macword articles and other reviews.

Referral Question

I have received one referral click so far. Do I need 1 or 2 more in order to get the Koingo Utility Package?

Bundle

I purchased the bundle a couple of days into it mainly for Sous Chef and World of Goo and hoping for The Hit List which did get unlocked. The rest of the apps were just a bonus.

Warning: World of Goo is really an addictive game, BoinxTV is an awesome tool, just cooked a meal using SousChef =D Haven't gotten to try Kinematic yet, I'm sure it'll be great as well - really happy with the bundle!!

As a sorta-recent switcher (Feb 07), I can't seem to recall if any group or group of developers ever did this thing on the PC/Windows side. It's nice to see the Mac community doing a service as a whole (on both sides, consumer and developer), probably because we're "cooler" and can afford it since we already paid "Apple tax." (I'm, of course, being sarcastic and referring to the recent commercials that don't shed the proper light on the whole Mac/PC debacle).

I plunked down the $39 last night using the MacRumors link (thanks for everything, Arn) and I can't wait to tinker with some of the goodies this week. It's all about finding a need for some of these programs now! ;)

I've tried to buy this for the last 30 minutes, and I can't. "Too much traffic".

I got that twice, then a short while later it worked, but it failed on the generating serial numbers. Nice graphic to tell me it'll take time, but then the page timed out completely. So, I have to wait for the email which could take 24 hours allegedly.

Like everyone else, I pretty much wanted only one or two apps, but have found many of the others much more useful than initially expected.

So some of these apps that I bought are 30-day trial shareware versions? Why am I asked to enter a "purchase" validation code if I just paid for these?

You could find the list of serial keys/license by clicking on your receipt page.

Yep, I agree, it's a great bundle with lots of good stuff in it...everyone will find something, and odds are you'll also find something you didn't really think you wanted or needed but that turns out to be cool.

That would be dandy except it appears broken right now. Even entering my email address gives me the middle finger, telling me I have no transactions tied to my email address, even though I have my email receipt! :D

I think "Times" looks interesting. I downloaded the trial from the publisher's website, and I REALLY like it, except it won't display some RSS feeds properly!

For example, here's the link to Highdefdigest's Blu-ray reviews:

feed://feeds2.feedburner.com/HDDblurayreviews

This doesn't display correctly in Times, nor does the Rotten Tomatoes feed. Am I missing something? I'd like to buy this pack of stuff, but Times is my main reason for doing so!

World of goo is marvellous, I'm digging delicious library ( even if you have to tweetpimp to get that ), as I've got a big collection so anything to help make some sense of it is good. Sous chef could be interesting to the average joe too if got a laptop, one should be cooking more after all.

Personally for me wiretap studio is handy too, just being able to easily record from an individual programs output for some thing is something I've occasionally wanted to do.

The rest, I'll explore them and make mind up if I have any use or not, multiwinia is another thing I've been interested in, and now I get to try it effectively for free after the other apps I was interested in taken into account of.

I can see possible uses for littlesnapper too, and acorn I'll give a whirl to see if its usefull enough for the odd casual bit of editing I need.

I've just had a prod, and it is indicating error on trying to download the full article for some reason, It's done this to me on a few sites too. the helpfile suggests reporting the non working feeds to the developer so he can try and fix the app to work with them, don't know how likely this is though? but worth a shot, and it does look like a fairly slick app otherwise.

you can set it to open the article in safari for feeds that don't work currently though.

How long did it take everyone to receive your Delicious Library license? That's the one that I dove right into, but I could only add 25 items until they give me the code.

This bundle is well worth the $39, even if it is stuff that I may not have bought otherwise.

It is not WireTap Pro in the MacHeist bundle; it is WireTap Studio. Audio Hijack Pro does not do the same things as WireTap Studio.

Check out this post by the president of the company that makes WireTap Studio, Ambrosia Software. It explains the differences between WTS and AHP. http://www.ambrosiasw.com/forums/lofiversion/index.php/t115926.html

OK, Mr Pedantic :p

What I meant was the feature of Wire Tap products that I would buy the program for I already have catered for by Audio Hijack Pro - functionally it does exactly the same thing; record system audio. Like comparing Safari and Firefox; at the end of the day they both browse the web. If they were paid for apps I wouldn't buy both.

Incidentally, a large part of that comparison is just waffle about differences in the respective interfaces and very little to do with real functionality differences between the two programs. He does point out some valid differences, many of which are moot in my case, as I know exactly what format I want to record to and what bitrate etc.

As such, as far as I'm concerned, Wire Tap products have nothing to offer me that I don't have already. That said I now own WTS as part of the bundle anyway...
