That's the point.

<shudder> I need a donut.

-----

I didn't mean to implicate anyone in the warning about consecutive posts.

It was meant as a general warning to thread denizens to try and keep from getting off track, not as a chastisement for naughty-do. Well, maybe Iscariot. :)

This is perilously close to exercise, but I'll donate 10.

The only problem with that is determining what constitutes a "new page". For me, a new page starts at 40 posts, but the default is something like 10 (20?). But it's the right idea.

the default is 25… so the member that posts every 25 posts makes a sub total? or should moderators or Iscariot do it?

Iscariot has done an excellent job of keeping up with things such as this; I'm sure his plan was to do it all along. We can all try to tally it, but he'll do it himself in the end I'm sure.;)

Current Total: 655

Post format! Here is what a sample post would look like:

I just did 55

The idea being that you tally your push ups together; however as Redwarrior said I will be double-checking the math every once and a while!

^ 90! so are you doing like 6 sets of 15 every 10 mins?

just did 20 after my last post and 20 more after i came back home.

now how are we going to know if everyone is doing a proper pushup? i propose a standard.

Nope, I do three sets of 30 (although I can crank out 90 push ups in one set). I do 30 one-handed, 30 more one-handed (opposite hand) and then 30 more diamond.

While I generally like standards (a lot) this is more like a feeler. If it takes off, #2 will have a standard and a more tailored set.

 I feel like a sissy now. While usually optimistic about my performance capability, I don't think I'll ever be able to do that.

Just wondering ... does it not matter how many post's we make in a day ? some have posted way more than that already

Some of us tend to be more chatty than others  and I think Iscariot was trying to keep things under control so that the totals would be easier to track. Imo the bold totals will help this quite a bit, though.

I'm going to restrain myself from here on out and do my best not to post more than twice a day. Keeping it relevant is the most important thing I think.

This looks like a lot of fun. I will be contributing tonight. Unfortunately I think doing push ups at the office would be frowned upon.

another 20… my wrists hurt! do it on carpet next time.

Total for MR 945
I know, I said I was going to restrain myself, but this is relevant.

Some people have weak wrists. You can make a fist and do them on your knuckles (on the carpet!) to take the strain off the wrists. This works quite well and allows for more range of motion.:)

yeh my wrists are really skinny but ive being doing weights and my shoulders, chest and forearms are getting decent now. unfortunately i dont think i can bulk up my wrists but doing pushups should strengthen them!

add another 20 to that sir!

Total for MR 965

sorry i stuffed up the total by being too slow. here is the new one taking mickbab into account

Total for MR: 1000
