Everyone knows the Seahawks are a Microsoft team, owned by Paul Allen and supported by the MS-friendly crowd.

And Apple has one of its software development offices in Pittsburgh.

It's clear that each and every Mac devotee betrays their cause when they root for the Seahawks. Go hang your heads in shame, traitors, because you help undermine our vision for a world without Windows.

Intel has an office (and small factory) in WA, supporting the apple influence out there. Seattle is also a west coast team, and we all know where Apple is based.

Well, here you can see the guy who ran out onto the field in a referee's outfit to, we assumed, 'fix' the ball at the start of the second half in Super Bowl XXXVIII, only to strip off to a shiny jockstrap. The white pile lying on top of the logo is the remains of the uniform that he 'velcroed' off himself.

So, if that can happen, people running out in any kind of uniform is possible!
And if that can happen, people running out of any kind of uniform is possible. That was a distracted Super Bowl. :)

nastiest boob I've ever seen....ughh..

And Seattle=Microsoft, The team is owned by MS...intel office or no Intel office, nothing says Microsoft like the Seattle Seahawks..

That being said, I like the seahawks, but I will like it even more when they are returning home as losers on Sunday evening.

The funniest thing about it was that I don't think anyone in the stadium saw Janet's nudity... it was all kinda faraway! And we all left raving about the game and sure that everyone would be talking about the referee streaker... and got into the car, turned on talk radio and all anyone cared about was Janet

More apple connection to Pgh

Also, the mach kernal is developed at CMU..

Go Steelers !!!

I wonder how stupid it would be to put a silly bet on a final score of 24-23 based on those results?
Not much worse than some other methods people use.

Of course, my squares pool tells me I'm more in favor of a 24-17 result. Or 27-14. Or 27-24. Or 14-7. Or... :D

who i want to win?...the steelers, of course, by 7 with bettis retiring after a 200 yard day and a superbowl mvp

ok, in reality, the seattle seahawks will win by 3-7 points and shaun alexander will be superbowl mvp...this will be a hard fought ground game and both teams will score less than 30 points

that's my final prediction with less than 96 hours to play

Aside from the obvious big names on both sides of the ball, there are 2 more keys I think need focusing on which could determine a good performance from both sides.
•Troy Polamalu (SS Steelers) vs. Marcus Trufant (CB Seahawks) We'll see if Pittsburgh can "handle the Truf" and if Seattle can beat the leg work of a long hair.
•Haven't heard much talk about Special Teams' advantage on either side, but that seems to show up at crucial moments in a big game.

good points

at least without legendary quarterbacks favre, warner, and brady, this won't likely be a qb dominated superbowl and other players will make or break this game for their team

Thus, naturally, they are going to crash on Sunday. They've tried to copy the other good teams but ultimately have an inferior product. :)

Perhaps the funniest ever fan-on-the-field episode was when Pittsburgh was in Cleveland (I think it was Cleveland) and some moron runs on the field in his baggy jeans, thinks he's a bad ass, until the Steelers' James Harrison body slams him to the turf and holds him down. I hope there's a video out there with that on it, it's really worth watching.

Only an uber nerd would relate a football team to a computer company. Yes the Hawks are owned by Paul Allen but it was him who brought in Mike and Matt. He is the one who turned this team around and created what they are today. With that being said, I am a true Apple devotee and love it in the great northwest. Seattle is underrated by everyone (the city and the football team). I proudly hold my head high for the Hawks ;) Plus Paul Allen graduated and supports my university, so he is a cool guy in my books.

Definately a tough call, I detest Cowrer but Dan Kreider the fullback comes from my area, in fact he graduated high school with my brother. Still up in the air about this one.

Gotta love any coach that stuck with Kordell Stuart for as long as he did.
Ya, he apparently saw something in him that no one else did since his Colorado days. He had the talent to excel and go far. Eventually, he just ended up, far. I just hope, if Pittsburgh takes it all, Cowher will have enough in his dental plan to fix his massive under bite and mandible. Maybe that's where the bull dog tenacity comes from. ;)

Added edit: Now Porter's "awake" http://www.superbowl.com/news/story/9201674 A Seahawk tactical error?

Yeah that was a dumb move IMO by the TE. It's much better to keep your mouth shut and let your actions speak volumes. IMO.

I love Joey Porter. (Although I think he just needed to find an excuse to trash-talk.) The best was him saying, who do you want to take with you when you go down a dark alley, me or Jerramy Stevens. You take Stevens with you, you'll both get mugged.

I think this will probably be another close, classic game. But, if the Steelers get up early, it very well might be a blowout. Steelers offense will generate 30 points. If their defense can contain Alexander, it's all over.

GO STEELERS!

Showdown in Motown

I don't always agree with Esiason's analysis, but on this one, I think he makes some good points. http://www.superbowl.com/news/story/9206450

(Feb. 3, 2005) -- Super Bowl XL is finally here. After two weeks of over-analysis and in-depth study and a few players losing their minds -- most notably Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker Joey Porter -- it's time to get it on. In my opinion, here are the most important facets of this championship game.

1. Seattle Seahawks LT Walter Jones vs. Pittsburgh Steelers ROLB Joey Porter:

2. Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger handling the zone:

3. Seattle Seahawks QB Matt Hasselbeck dealing with Dick LeBeau's 3-4 defensive scheme:

4. The intangibles:

All in all, it's about the Seattle offense's ability to handle Pittsburgh's 3-4 defense and the pressure that Porter and safety Troy Polamalu will try to deliver.

I know it's cliché, but often these big games do come down to defense. If Porter, Polamalu and the Pittsburgh blitz are on their game, I'm seeing a 21-10 Steeler day.

I'm fascinated by this game. I'm not sure I like Porter's reaction since from what I read Stevens was making a joke rather than boasting.

With the Steelers being favourites and the media attention firmly on the Bus, are they going to end up blowing it like the Rams against the Pats, like the Raiders did against the Buccs... I think this is going to be a lot closer than people think...

I been to both cities and chilled out in both stadiums, and this is the first year for a while when I really don't mind who wins so long as it's a good game. I may end up rooting for whoever the first bad call goes against.

I think the first quarter or so will be low scoring and then all hell will break loose - a little like that Panthers/Pats Superbowl 2 years ago.
