So, where is Mayo headed? Are there any other rumors besides USC and KState?

There are some rumors that he may not head to college at all. He may train on his own for a year or play overseas until he's eligible for the NBA.

I'm sorry who has a new arena and mister Mayo? I don't think Mayo is very good swimmer but I could be wrong... :D Look for USC to vault into basketball stardom in the next couple seasons.
Look for a grass roots NCAA Basketball mantra to rise from the masses. "Hold the Mayo"™ :)

like everybody else ... he's going to be there for a year ... this is a kid who thinks he's better than MJ, he's got a big mountain to climb ... isn't success in football enough for USC? leave basketball alone

champions know no boundaries. USC!

Rats. Memphis got spanked by Georgia Tech, tonight. Blew a 16 point half time lead and got out boarded like 29-9 in the second half. Calipari's gonna ride'm hard and put'em up wet next week.

Embarrassing night for the Big East...Rutgers loses to Jackson State (yes, a SWAC school) and Cinci loses to Wofford. Ouch.

The only saving grace was Marquette's nice win over Duke.

I felt bad for Jackson State, they played @ Illinois one night, and kept it competitive for a half ... then we dismantled them. The next night they came across the scroll as @ memphis ...THATS ROUGH for anybody, two nights in a row and a significant distance, I don't envy those kids.

Playing Illinois and Memphis probably strengthened them up enough in the short term to beat Rutgers though.

Butler is the early season story that makes college basketball so wonderful. A mid-major program -- admittedly with some post-season success -- emerges with not only a 7-0 start, but with an NIT championship as a member of a field that contained Indiana, Tennessee, North Carolina and Gonzaga. And one night after that win over Gonzaga they polish off a fiesty Kent State team that had every reason to think they could steal some headlines.

Go Butler. Show everybody why Boise St. should have their chance in a football playoff.

Final Score: 201-78! No, it's not Cricket

I had to smile at this NCAA Scoring Record registered by Lincoln University vs. Ohio St.-Marion, Saturday. I bet is was a zoo to watch. :)

So Bob Knight's chase for the record will have to wait another game it looks like.

Still tied with the Dean at 779. He's showing his years with snow on the roof, but I couldn't help think he still has the fire in the furnace. Such an uncharacteristic picture of him with the S.I. article. :D

Time to wake this thread,

The Connecticut Huskies fall from grace continues as they got blown out again today. Leading by 11 points at half time they lost against providence 84-72. Uconn is on a 4 game losing skid for the first time since 2001.

Along the "what makes college basketball great" lines.

Went to this game tonight and watched the University of Maine down the University of Hartford 65-64 in a battle of middle of the road America East teams. It's highly unlikely either of these teams will be going to the NCAAs -- neither has gone in their entire basketball histories. But it was a terrific game that included huge runs, momentum swings, a triple technical foul on one team (never seen that before) and tremendous effort.

This was the "love of the game," and I'll take Hartford/Maine over most big time schools/games every night.

Go Butler, etc.

rock chalk jayhawk go ku

a few shortcomings early on, but slowly building the skill and experience up on the young team. tonight the boys held nebraska to 14 points at half time, stellar defense

great game will be comin this saturday, 6 a&m at 8 ku. college gameday will be there (espn for the americans)

cant wait for march (we've got a lot of proving to do after the past 2 early exits haha )

Another thank you to Detroit. C. Douglas-Roberts already has 23 pts. taking Memphis to a 20 point lead over UCF 66-46 with a little under 9:00 to go.

Couple of questions.

Are we going to have an MR March Madness NCAA Basketball tournament bracket pick again this year? If I recall thedude110 took the honors last year, and stubeeef went on sabatical.

Anyone heard anything new about where 7' Center Anthony McClain intends to play? He's had about 6-7 colleges after him. If Memphis could land him along with outstanding PG Derrick Rose who has already committed, they'd have a huge recruiting year.
