Are we going to have an MR March Madness NCAA Basketball tournament bracket pick again this year? If I recall thedude110 took the honors last year, and stubeeef went on sabatical.
I would say yes, not sure who is going to start it up tho.

Looks like the madness has already jump started as Vanderbilt chomped the #1 Gators. S.I. has Zaga an 84-80 favorite over visiting Memphis, as at least U.M. finally gets some ink, though with S.I. writers it's never good.

Ducked in and out of the NEC Championship tonight (which was happening about 5 minutes from my apt., so I sort of wonder why I wasn't there in the first place).

A fantastic game -- overflowing with the sense of possibility and despair that makes the sport so easy to relate to.

Two pics that tell the story:

Im rooting for CCSU to go far in the big dance. Lets see a small unknown do some damage.

NC ST 70 Duke 70 overtime

This is going to be a rough tourney to predict with all these big teams in trouble a lot of fairly unknowns might do some big damage this year.

Louisville and West Virginia in overtime.

Duke loses out to NC State in overtime.

Louisville and West Virginia in second overtime.

March Madness is going strong.

Looks like we're going to go at it again iJon. (Miss State vs. Arkansas) Both teams dominated their respective home games. Should be interesting on the neutral court.

Three of the four semi-finalists in the SEC are from the West. I guess that helps prove the strength of our half of the conference.

I was just invited to go watch it on a 45 Plasma HD at a friend's house. It'll be a blast!

To be honest I do not care about the outcome of today's game. If we lose today we probably won't make it to the NCAA tournament, which means our coach Stan Heath will get fired, which will make me one happy camper.

Other than that Go Hogs!

My favorite moment from yesterday (apart from a much-needed comeback by Texas) was seeing camera shots of Sidney Lowe on NC State's sideline.

Nice jacket.

Your coach made great adjustments and made good use of the Hogs' size. I think State left it all on the court yesterday. Maybe he just saved his job?

I believe he did save his job. That win today should get us into the Tourney despite the outcome of tomorrow's game.

The Hogs earned their way in, but it won't be an easy road, even to the Sweet Sixteen, getting by both USC and Texas. Still, I'd like to see them get that far.

Looks like you got the best of both worlds: an NCAA appearance, and Heath still got fired. :D

Yep and I am so glad. Right now we are apparently going after Billy Gillispie at Texas A&M. I've been browsing some of the message boards for the Aggies and it's a blast seeing their fan base in disarray cause of Billy G. possibly leaving.

If we can just get rid of Houston Nutt (football coach) we will be set and I will be one really happy camper.

I know that money rules all, but it seems that Gillispie has a pretty sweet setup in College Station. He's built that program into a Top 10 squad in only three years, and, from what I hear, he gets good support from the university. I'd be surprised if he left.

I just want to say that for the first time ever, I got all 4 teams in the Final Four. I'm usually out of it by the end of the first weekend...

I don't think he has a sweet set up and I'll tell you why.

- A&M will always be home to the second school and second coach in Texas (behind Texas Uni.)

- A&M will always be a football school first

-University of Arkansas IS our school. That's the only team the whole state roots for. We have no pro teams.

- College Station's basketball court is no better than a glorified high school stadium. Max is 12,000 fans. Our stadium holds about 21,000 and we can fill it very easily.

- We have some of the nicest facilities in the country. One of the top football stadiums, top basketball arena in the midwest, one of the best if not the best baseball facilities, the best track in the country, unmatched fan base. Even our weight room is the top in the country.

- We have oogles of money to throw at Billy G. (Waltons, Hunts, Tyson, etc)

-Very rich in basketball tradition and predominantly a basketball school. Many critics will rate us a top 10 basketball program. Billy G. knows he can win a National Championship at Arkansas (it was done 13 years ago) and I don't believe College Station can.

I could go on and on but you get the picture. We have everything he could want and we have it now. It has been confirmed that he is in talks with our Athletic Director and I do expect him to become our new head coach. Time will tell, hopefully by the end of the week.

Anybody else going to watch the Final Four of the NIT tonight? Go Air Force!

Or am I totally lame?

Is anyone surprised that S.I. Seth Davis defends the coaching of KU's Bill Self? Comparing him to the levels of a John Wooden and a Dean Smith is a stretch. I'm neither a Seth fan nor a Self fan, doubly dying shall go down to the vile, dusty hardwood floor from which they sprung; unwept, unhonored, and unsung. I think Illinois fans would agree, from experience. Maybe not.

And yes, KU's getting knocked off whacked my bracket, so there is bias. :)
