The more Tomlinson keeps mouthing off, whining and playing the no class/disrepect card the more foolish he looks. He needs concentrate more on why his team lost. That's the bottom line.People can't get over the fact that a 14-2,number one seed,at home, with the league MVP lost to a team that was supposedly overmatched and outmanned...If people want to go back, then search the archives for the quotes Marty made after they beat the Pats in 05.That's when the bad blood started...Just heard Marty was given one year @4.5 million.SO their done for next year already:D :D

Yeah, I read that on PFT last night - and spotted that picture you posted earlier too. Profootballtalk.com for those of you not in the loop is a great resource for often-suspiciously accurate football information. :D

Completely agree though. I want to see the teams play football and not a flag-fest for ho-hum penalties.

Yeah, that's a great site.Lots of good info there. And I agree completely. They wear a helmet and pads for a reason. It's football. It's a championship game. Let em play..

Obviously, I'm really, really hoping for the Saints in the SB, but I don't know if we have what it takes to beat da Bears at Soldier field.

On the AFC side, I can't pick. I really like both Peyton and Brady. Part of me wants Manning to get his shot, and then part of wants Brady to get his 4th ring.

It's going to be an intense Sunday!

To win, the Saints need to prevent Grossmann from throwing screens and then he'll throw the ball up in the air for any old joe.. or fumble... are there any Bears fans here who would defend the QB? I actually like the Bears as an organisation, but the team needs some help (gotta love luvvie though).

Yeah, right. Pats - Bears 45 -10??! Back to the Future came out in '85 too didn't it?

"Call this the Crippled Quarterback round of the playoffs. Rex Grossman looks like he's never seen a blitz before. Peyton Manning is going through some kind of weird regression. Tom Brady still has the ability to pull games out of the fire, after his wildly inaccurate streaks have gotten the Patriots into the fire to begin with. Only Drew Brees seems serene and untroubled, which kind of describes The People's Choice of this tournament, the Saints."

I won't try and defend the Bear's QB, but the phrase "Rex Grossman looks like he's never seen a blitz before" is a concern. He's going to have to be on his game with anticipating the pressure of the blitz and accurate with dumping to the sides or up the middle.

IMO, all the hype about past games, records, domes and home field is just that. It's present tense, and those who want most will show up. I'm still for a Pats/Bears SB, though the experts say differently.

Now that the Chargers lost, my heart just isn't in this season anymore. What a let down. This might be the first year that I'll watch the Superbowl and actually not care one way or another who wins.

You (presumably) made sure to read my specific post, and not group me with someone who's post might have been a little harsher than mine. And even he is mostly correct, which is why I quoted him.

you're right, i actually quoted your post having seen the one you quoted, so my apologies. your response to me was actually quite well reasoned and i agree that tomlinson shouldn't have said what he has, but that human nature is what it is and with disappointment of that degree it's natural to let it out with emotional outbursts. in a situation like that, i look back on the person's history to see whether they deserve a pass on their emotional response or not, and in this case i'd say he does.

i do believe that both his AND the pats' reactions can be inappropriate though. one being wrong does not make the other right.

GO Bears

i hope indy beats the pats, we didnt do so well vs the pats earlier in the season. it was the 3rd road game (nyg, nyj, ne) in a row but that doesnt mean squat in the playoffs. i think the bears can win vs the saints if rex doesnt turn the ball over alot. the D might be able to overcome 1 mabey 2 turnovers, but anything more, i just dont know if they can do it. everyone and their brother is taking the saints, except espn chris berman i hope they are all wrong.

it would be superbowl XX all over again if the bears meet new england again. here in chicago its the bears everything right now.

Well, I'll be backing both NE and Chicago to win, but come the 4th, it'll be New England that will get my support, (first time I remember in years I have rooted for the AFC to win the Superbowl too).

I actually came into things quite late this season, but looking at the form of the Bears, they really seem to be reliant on one man not screwing up too much and unfortunately, after last week's divisional game, I think this week will be scraping the bottom of the barrel for them. If they pull through, a reversal of XX is on the cards.

In the AFC: I really don't want to root for either team. IMHO Peyton is a choke artist (and his brother is even worse) and I hate the Pats (I'm a Jets fan). Considering I hate the Pats, I'm hoping that Peyton is going to get his act together and finally win the big one.

In the NFC: All Saints, All The Time. The Bears have a good team and I'm not going to debate that. Rex Grossman is the biggest question (?) mark I have ever seen. The Saints just seem well rounded at the moment and are playing good football.

AFC Champion = Colts
NFC Champion = Saints
Super Bowl Champion = Saints (I still won't be able to root for the Colts even if Peyton pulls it off)

That's my $2.00

That would be wonderful!! Except this time,we won't have a QB that's wearing a dress and heels ;) Die hard Pats fan here..As far as Pats/Colts go..The best regular season QB in the game today,vs the BEST post season QB in the game today.

Go Bears and Pats. Pulling for the underdogs, here. In addition, I hope to see S.I. "Expert" Don Hank's perfect playoff prediction record go down. :D

"Putting my 8-0 playoff record firmly in the capable hands of Drew Brees and the rest of the storybook Saints. Some things are just meant to be.
Saints 20, Bears 13

Both history and logic compels one to go with the Patriots in the playoffs, but the Colts' time has come at last. New England played its Super Bowl last week.
Colts 23, Patriots 20"

The Saints aren't really underdogs. Every expert on ESPN except for its computer picked the Saints. Only two guys on CNN/SI did. The line I saw yesterday was Bears by 2, you get 3 for being at home I believe, so ... the Bears are not looking so good. I don't see any way to peg the Saints as an underdogs though.

WOW! Another so called national expert picks the Colts, lol. There's something new. Home field is worth three in a point spread. So this is basically a push. That is,if I was a betting man..

Couple of Bear concerns, both offensively and defensively:

Thinking about the Thomas Jones factor. The Bears are 14-1 in the past 15 games in which Jones carries at least 20 times.

Which D will show up for Chicago? Early on with everyone healthy, they gave up an average of 17 points per game. In their past five games, the Bears have given up 27, 31, 21, 26 and 24 points. Hoping for a good performance from both Urlacher and Briggs.

Congrats to the Bears... their defense really picked up the challenge today and Grossman even managed a couple of decent drives - although his stats looked awful until the end of the 3rd quarter

They looked a little shaky during the 3rd quarter until that intentional grounding safety but then just overpowered the Saints - who didn't help themselves with some bad mistakes.

Good job... and good luck to 'em in the Super Bowl. They've had some lucky breaks this year (like that Arizona game) so let's hope they can manage another one in two weeks.

Everyone Sing

Bear down, Chicago Bears! Make every play clear the way to victory!
Bear down, Chicago Bears! Put up a fight with a might so fearlessly!
We'll never forget the way you thrilled the nation with your T formation.
Bear down, Chicago Bears, and let them know why you're wearing the crown
You're the pride and joy of Illinois. Chicago Bears, bear down!

wow the bears defense played at or possibly above superbowl caliber.

man i'm excited for the big game.

Ugh! I had New Orleans and New England in the Super Bowl. Rats! I really hoped the Saints would take it all the way.

that was a good game by the Bears. lets hope they show up and play well for the SuperBowl, but to be honest, i'm just happy that got that far.

This is a cracking game between the Colts and Pats.

Great TD by Gaffney although I think, despite the score, that the Colts are currently moving the ball better - the Patriots D have spent a long time on the field and the kick-off return didn't give em much time to catch their breath.
