It's about time a Redskin's receiver catches one..Great comeback and great game.!!!..WOW..what a turnaround in this game!

edit..Ouch..shanking a 30 yard FG....

I do, cause it's friggin annoying to hear every goddamn time!

Yes, I was going to comment on your sig... I was waiting for an appropriate time.

And it's now here:

New York Yankees - 2000
New York Rangers - 1994 (Strike shortened season)
New York Giants - 1990 (SB XXV)
New York Mets - 1986
New York Islanders - 1983 (4 Consecutive Stanley Cups)
New York Knicks - 1973
New York Jets - 1969 (SB III)

Though I love GnR, they are not the best band in history.

Whoa whoa whoa, I know I'm a little late here but I can't let this stand. 1995 was the shortened season, not 1994. Typical Islanders fan trying to take credit from the Rangers.

Hehe lol jk, but yeah the shortened season was 1995 when the Devils won the cup.

And BTW, The Jets winning Super Bowl 3 was the most important thing to ever happen in professional American Football. Yeah the Jets suck, but without them winning SBIII, the NFL would be nothing like it is today, and that's a FACT.

Corrected :D

I know your post was a joke, but you do know that the Jets played at Shea Stadium when they won Superbowl 3 right? Shea is in New York City.

I don't think many people like them. Or their inflated crowd noise.

Damn... Agreed. I've been to games in Seattle and there's no way it's the loudest stadium in the NFL. It's a gorgeous stadium but the fans just weren't that into it on either occasion I've been there (and one of those games was something like a 35-42 shoot out with over 1000 yards of offense against their old division rivals, Chiefs).

Talking of which, I'd give the Chiefs the prize for the loudest stadium in the league. Nothing quite like Arrowhead on Monday night :D And the Patriots the prize for best stadium... and best ladies' loos :p

Good game. Quite a 4th quarter. The Redskins deserve all the credit in the world for making the playoffs and playing a tough game tonight after what they went through this season, but they really are not a playoff-caliber team.

As much as I wanted us to win in a way it's almost a relief that this season is over and hopefully the players can take the time to heal and mourn w/o worrying about preparing for a game.

The first half was pretty flat, but the 2nd half the 'Skins looked like they have the past four games. The missed field goal swung the momentum back to the 'Hawks and Santana quitting on that route was the nail in the coffin.

HTTR & RIP #21.

Chargers lift television blackout

By: North County Times

San Diego Chargers officials announced this afternoon that enough tickets have been sold to lift the local television blackout on Sunday's play-off game against the Tennessee Titans at Qualcomm Stadium.

The deadline to sell enough tickets to broadcast the game was extended 24 hours to 1:30 p.m. today after officials said fewer than 500 tickets remained to meet their sales goal. Officials have not said why ticket sales were so, although some fans have said they would be reluctant to sit in the outdoor stadium during the heavy rain expected Sunday.
Today's news release from the Chargers states that "a limited number" of tickets remain available. Also, officials are advising fans to wear waterproof shoes and clothing, and to bring rain jackets. Umbrellas are forbidden in the stadium.

The game will be televised in San Diego on KFMB-TV, Channel 8, and in Los Angeles and Orange counties on KCBS-TV, Channel 2. Kickoff is at 1:30 p.m. Jim Nantz and Phil Simms will be the announcers

That's sad if a team can't sellout a home playoff game. And talk about the epitome of "fair weather fans":

It's football for cripe's sake..Strap it on....

Yikes... that's bad. Go buy one of those team rain macs and soak it up. I've been to a few wet games - they're less pleasant to stand in but I agree whole-heartedly.. it's football, get behind your team. It's one reason why I really don't mind the Pats fans enjoying their current success. I remember that snow game and the conditions and them all being there throwing snow in the air like confetti despite the temperature.

Back to tonight's games... Jacksonville look good. If they make it to Foxboro, the Pats are going to have a game on their hands...

I don't understand the local blackout rule. If they don't sell it out, tough who cares.

I'm with you on Arrowhead being the loudest NFL stadium. The old Mile High was right behind it, but not close enough to say they were tied.

The problem the Jaguars have with the Pats is that they don't match up well. What Jacksonville does well--run and stop the run--is irrelevant to what New England does. Conversely, once New England gets a lead, Jacksonville is poorly set up to come back.

Yeah, and the Cardinals used to play in St. Louis, but they changed their name when they moved out of the city. Likewise, the Raiders changed their name when they moved from LA to Oakland.

Don't worry, I also think the Redskins should be the Maryland Redskins. :)

I was at the old Mile High when they tried to set the NFL crowd noise record during the third quarter. It was a really hot Sunday in late September and after three or four attempts, they announced that they had it. It was amazing to hear folks drumming their legs on the stands to get the noise up. That was the season when the new Mile High was being built next door - we got to walk across where the field would eventually be before the game.

The next night we went to MNF at Arrowhead and, despite no record attempt being made, there was absolutely no contest for which was the louder crowd.

Wow..Hamburger looks awful tonight..Serving up picks...Who the hell is he throwing to?? The boo birds are out in Pitts...Tomlin looks ill.

Wow. Our paths have crossed! I was also at that game. I think they were measuring at the field level for the noise record, so Mile High might have been louder by a fraction of a dB. But I agree--I've been to a couple games at Arrowhead, and it is the loudest NFL stadium I've ever been in. The new Mile High is a joke.

Slightly off topic, but The Pit at UNM is the loudest place I've seen a college basketball game. Unreal!

You can hear a pin drop on the 50 yard line at Heinz..Pitt's D got owned big time on that last drive..Helped by a dumba@@ facemask penalty...

I think that PI call against the Jags was crap. Ward had the DBs jersey in one hand and the face mask in the other.

The DB was also holding Ward. Should have been a no-call because they both committed penalties on that.
