I have a feeling that Man U are going to get knocked out of the FA cup this weekend, I can see SAF under-estimating Everton and them loosing 2-1 or something along them lines....Arsenal FTchampions leagueW :D

Barcelona v Arsenal for the final

That would be my preferred match up. Everton are capable of beating United if they play well.

I thought the Porto game was pretty boring, Porto made some mistakes but I thought United played a bit sloppy at times. Should have been a 0-0 draw with Porto going through but for Ronaldo's little intervention in the 6th minute. I think the early goal made it a less interesting match than it could have been.

At this point I'm predicting Barcelona / Arsenal. Gooners look great, Man Utd still struggling to get back to form defensively. Having Ferdinand back is a big help; I don't recall Brown's injury status or when he's due back -- would be helpful to have that back line all together again.

I think the final will be Barcelona v Arsenal.

Barcelona vs Manchester United in the final, I reckon.

Chelsea's the underdog then!!!

Happy with that, as it means the pressure's off.

Re-run of last year's final, and John Terry will leap like a salmon and score the winning goal in the 94th minute.

:p

That would be nice - would be very happy if United only ended with the League cup this year :D

Sadly can't see it, but live in hope

Anyone watching City vs. HSV?

City have hit the woodwork twice (and HARD), a goal disallowed due to offside (which was correct, though), missed an open goal from 2 yards (over), and had a few shots on target too.
HSV has well... scored once, somehow, and shot over the bar.

City really deserve to win..!

I don't like the amount of people saying Arsenal Barca final - I preferred it when everyone was posting their end of the season tables with Aston Villa 4th!

I don't think we are in a position, no matter what the recent form, of going into games with United and being the favourites. For sure we have a good chance, as if we really turn it on and play very well in both games, I think we can beat them - but they still have an immensely strong squad. Add to that the fact that our defence will still be a bit dodgy I imagine - best case scenario by then Clichy, Sagna and Almunia are back, but we'd still be having to play Sylvestre.. which I don't really like.

And it's for that reason I'm not very confident about the FA Semi today. A weak defence which it's looking like will be missing.. Almunia, Gallas, Djourou, Clichy, Sagna and Gibbs - is not an appestising prospect against a team like Chelsea.

The plus side is our attacking force at the moment. There was a period this season where you looked at Arsenal and weren't sure where the goals would come from. Adebayor, van Persie, Walcott, Arshavin, Fabregas, Nasri, Eduardo.. means I don't feel that now :)

I'm pretty excited at the moment.. and a bit scared

It looks like Sir Alex has heard your warning. He's even managed to turn it against his best mate Rafel.

BBC said:
Sir Alex Ferguson is showing no sign of letting up in his war of words with Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez.
The two have been verbally sparring since January and in Ferguson's latest outburst the Scot blasted Benitez for labelling Everton as a "small club".
"Everton are a big club, not a small one which Benitez arrogantly said," said the Manchester United boss.

2 great results last night for english teams.

I think the final will be Barcelona v Arsenal.

What do you guys think?

Was at the Arsenal v Villerreal match. Great game and lively atmos which was good!

Really great to see Pires again and got goosebumps at the end when the entire crowd gave him a standing ovation and sang 'super rob' at the top of their voices.

Would love an Arsenal v Barcelona final, but would take Arsenal v Chelsea :p

And we're up......:D

Utter crap.

Silvestre had a terrible day against Drogba.... :(
And Fabianski won't be sleeping tonight...

Oh well.. congrats to Chelsea.
And assuming Man Utd wil win over Everton, I hope Chelsea win the cup.

I think Wenger got it wrong, this was probably our only chance at silverware and he fielded a weak side. When you practically have no defence you need your strongest midfield players on the pitch. Why didn't Nasri, Arshavin & Song start?...surely he's not protecting them for the liverpool match on...does he still think he can win the league?!

Diaby, Ade, Silvestre & Fabianski might as well have stayed home. Gutted but credit to Chelsea and i really fear for our tie against Man Utd now and more importantly hope we don't lose players again this summer

I'd suggest that maybe he's prioritising the Champions League and the domestic League over the FA Cup. Granted, your chances of winning the title are very slim but more pressing is the need to finish at least fourth and guarantee Champions League football next season.

Both Villa and Everton can still potentially overtake you, perhaps he has an eye on that and is ensuring he can field as strong a side as possible in the League?
