2008-09 NFL Season Thread

The Eagles will be a dangerous team... I said it from the start
I think they have the best chance against the Giants

The Ravens will be equally dangerous in the AFC
Defense wins championships and the Ravens are rolling

An Eagles/Ravens Superbowl would be compelling to me
I have no interest in Carolina or Arizona

Raven's D is solid. The type that can get you to a SB. Pathetic showing from the fans down there.LOTS of empty seats for a playoff game for a team that hasn't been there for several years..

Frankly, and I'm not a Pats fan, I think Bellicheat deserved coach of the year. It's AMAZING that they won 11 games with a QB that hasn't played a game since high school.

Your team has to get to the post season for you to get COTY...Helluva job, but a handful of plays from getting there..Close doesn't get you anything in the NFL..

Now that would be a great super bowl. I don't think this will happen but it will be more interesting than Titans-Giants, or battle of the #1 seeds. It's fun to see a team few expected to go all the way. I would like to see a Philly ring, I mean a football ring for Philly as they are OK in the baseball department. :)

The Ravens took us to the woodshed. The Miami Defense played well, but the turnovers put them in some bad holes. They sure gaves us something to look forward to for next year.
Anxious to see what we do in the draft.

It's about the Cowboy's glory days in the 90's..Good read,with a lot of insight into the locker room. Makes the North Dallas Fourty team look like Boy Scouts,lol.

at this point, after wild card weekend, i am clueless :)

cards, titans, giants, steelers

go cards! here's hopin they can pull off an EST upset
 
Titans vs Ravens is going to be the best game. I'd love to see the Ravens win it, but I think the Titans will pull it off.

Steelers vs Chargers.. all depends on how effective Roethlisberger is coming back from that concussion. The weather will be a factor too.

Carolina vs Arizona.. Panthers shouldn't have too much trouble with this game.

Giants vs Eagles.. this one should be a good game. I hope the Eagles can pull off an upset.

titans, yeah probably (* but tied at the half at 7-7 so it's anybodys game)
chargers, probably not since steelers D can win this one alone w/o main qb
carolina, probably
eagles, i hope too but doubt it but philly going all the way would be entertaining for that city
 
okay, who saw the rash of like 5 players getting hurt near the end of the 3rd quarter of the ravens-titans game? what happened, no gatorade today?

btw, i think the ravens, panthers, giants and chargers win this weekend.
 
is it just me or did i see flacco step out of bounds for a safety on third down a few minutes ago? the titans just missed out on 2 points right there.

getting hurt this late in the season is terrible for the team that needs to move onto the conference championships

** 4 minutes left and titans had one yard on 4th down and should have put the game away, oh well, 10-10.
 
Nice win for the Ravens..Titans had their chances to put up points. Twelve penalties and three turnovers (including a fumble at the one) aren't going to win you games,esp in the playoffs...If Flacco stepped out,the challenge flags would have been flying..
 
Not calling a delay of game wasn't the deciding factor for the Titans loosing. Fumbles and penalties were the deciding factor.
 
Was a good game and glad Ravens won. Flacco, despite not being allowed to pass much, played a good game and didn't get too affected by rookie nerves.

Thought the nondelay of game wasn't quite as bad as it seemed on the replay version in realtime and yes, my first thought was that he'd stepped out of the endzone too.

Just home in time to see the second Cards TD - now that I'm back in front of a TV expect the game to be very dull until I fall asleep! :rolleyes:

Hoping for a Panthers win though.

Tomorrow would like Eagles and Chargers to win but that would need two underdogs to win which is unlikely! This is the round where the home teams win 3 out of 4 after all.
 
I can't believe Larry Fitzgerald is able to catch the ball at this point in the game. The Panthers should be doubling him a minimum, if not triple-teaming him.

The guy's one of the best receivers ever to play the game.

john fox is so getting fired. this defense is horrible.

delhomme is terrible too.
