Wasn't much of a duel, Wang pitched a 2 hitter complete game while Buchholz fell apart mid way.

Umm, he gave up 4 hits and 1 run over 6 innings.. that's not falling apart. They pulled him after 6 because his pitch count was 98. It's still early in the season and he's still going to be limited to only 180 innings this year anyways.

Pitchers giving up a combined 6 hits and 2 runs through 6 innings is definitely a pitchers duel (at least until the bullpen blew it).

Buchholz did load the bases. Wang only allowed 2 base runners, one on an error and one on a bunt. Wang's only true hit was the home run to Drew. He was only 3 pitches away from a perfect game.

huddy had another great outing tonight against the nationals with 8 shutout innings. him and peavy are going to be definitely in the cy young race all year long.

Detroit Tigers starter Dontrelle Willis hyperextended his right knee when he slipped and fell on a damp mound, and was pulled from Friday night's game in the first inning.

The Tigers did not say how long Willis out be out. They said the left-hander will undergo further evaluation.

The start of the game was delayed six minutes by rain on a blustery 46-degree night, then Willis walked leadoff hitter Carlos Quentin. On his first pitch to Orlando Cabrera, Willis' right plant leg gave way and he went down in front of the mound.

A trainer and manager Jim Leyland came to the mound, but Willis told them he was OK to continue.

But after Willis walked Cabrera and threw a wild pitch with Jim Thome batting, a trainer and Leyland went back to the mound. Willis again appeared to tell them he was OK, but Leyland removed his starter and brought in Aquilino Lopez.

Thanks Fox. Because you hold the rights to all Saturday day games and decided not to broadcast the Cardinals game in St. Louis, and instead broadcast the Sox vs Yankees (2 teams no one in STL gives a flying f**k about), I was stuck "watching" the game on the MLB live gameday scoreboard thing. Yeah, nothing more exciting than watching text. Have some paint that needs drying so I can watch that too?

Im stuck watching NASCAR because the game is in a rain delay. Someone tell the boys at Fenway not to take the tarp off early next time. And Fox does not own all the rights to day games. 1 o'clock games can be shown.

Not what I heard. They definitely did have rights to this game though

Usually Fox picks 3 games to show. If it was on the schedule not sure why they didn't pick it up.

The had Mark Grace and Thom Brenneman both here in the AZ Fox booth today, unusual ...

Mark Grace usually has network duties that make him miss every Sat with the DBacks, and Thom Brenneman left the team to go work with his dad.

I love how FOX had to cut to NASCAR when the count was 3-2 with 2 outs in the 9th. Oh no, the nascar rednecks might miss one ****ing lap out of 500 of cars DRIVING AROUND IN A CIRCLE.

dirty water though.

Well they warned you that the game was on FX, but still who cares about nascar. It isn't like they are going anywhere but circles.:p

That would be great, except I don't get FX here. I just flipped my receiver over to the radio though. Joe Castiglione > Joe Buck anyways.

What?! You mean that the entire world doesn't care about the Yankee's and Red Sox? You mean there are 28 other teams that play 162 games a year?! Say it ain't so. I really thought the world of baseball revolved around the Yankee's and Red Sox series.

Hmm... Looks like I'll have to rethink my life.

Yeah, it kinda surprised me too when I turned on my local news and heard about some team called the Cardinals playing some other team called the Giants. I never heard of them, what with the media only giving a crap about the Sox and Yankees and all

I'm so stupid.
I forgot to put Santana and Halladay in my starting lineup today.

But thanks to having 2 other starters, plus decent outings by Delcarmen and Okajima, and some good offensive production, I'm still going to take back 5th place.

so much for johan. looks like the same old same old for the muts.

meanwhile, frenchy went off on the nats, 7 rbi for him today as the braves finally wake up and beat down the nats 10-2.

yankees vs. red sox is way overhyped and espn and fox try to force feed it all the time, so i got sick of it. the way they talked, you would think they are the only teams around. believe it or not, the world does NOT revolve around new york.

I'm sort of happy the Tigers are losing. All of the band wagoners will soon jump off. Nothing more annoying than band wagoners.
