mlb.com crashes safari!!! ahh!!! i wanted to see the big unit on my computer!!!

looks like mlb.com won't be seeing any of my money for the time being.

I'm a subscriber and almost daily user of MLB.TV via Safari. Just as an fyi, it may have been crapping out because of the volume "FREE!" caused, it's always worked for me (this year).

Happy Jackie Robinson Day

I don't remember if I asked this last season, so I'll ask again.

Has anyone (everyone) seen the HBO special "The Brooklyn Dodgers: The Ghosts of Flatbush?"

I finally DVRed it and watched it for about the 5th time. It's just so damn good. If you haven't seen I highly recommend it. It is a fantastic piece of baseball lure/history.

I've seen it. It's pretty good. As a lifelong Dodger fan, I've actually heard most of the stories and similar "heart of Brooklyn" soliloquys before. So it wasn't as new to me as for a lot of other people. But it's still very well done.

There was also a more recent HBO documentary on the UCLA basketball dynasty of the 1960s and '70s that was pretty good.

Another lesser-known baseball documentary worth watching: The Life and Times of Hank Greenberg.

how about John Smoltz?

dang...struck out 7 in 3 innings I just hope he can finish the job and our offense will actually work this time :(

I gotta say, I really love extra innings games. I mean, I'd rather they didn't happen on a weeknight, but I love the small ball, running through the pitchers, the ever growing excitement of the fans that becomes more and more personal and pronounced as the crowd dwindles...

Mets tie it in the 8th. Top 14, 2 outs, one on. Sosa's ahead 1-2. I love it.

14 innings. 4 hours, 45 minutes. Wild pitch and Easley runs home.

I love extra innings baseball, especially win the Mets win.

Where are you sitting. I need to get back there a few times this year.

I was in Tier 25 Row B Seat 12.

fixed that for you :p

Thanks.

Yea, it was really put together. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

I heard about that UCLA one. I'm gonna have to check it out.

That one I haven't heard (maybe I did and it's just not clicking now). I'll add that to the queue as well.

So, who's going to make their milestone first, Junior or Manny? Griffey is 4 away, Manny is now 5 away.

I'm gonna go with Manny, but I think it will be close. I can't wait for Griffey to blast Number 600.

4:45? I think the Sox/Yankees beat that Wednesday night in 8.5.

Let's play 22!

Colorado and San Diego did just that Thursday night and into Friday morning, slogging through a 22-inning game that was the longest in the majors in nearly 15 years.

It's not the first time a baseball game has gone extra innings, but 22 or more is a rarity.

The Rockies finally won 2-1, with Troy Tulowitzki's two-out RBI double bringing in Willy Taveras with an unearned run in nearly empty Petco Park. A game that lasted 6 hours, 16 minutes was decided by an unearned run.

Enough pitches thrown to wear out a bunch of them, hopefully the DBacks can catch a break with a worn out squad.

Or simply be irritating and make them burn through pitches, like they have been this season, with fewer strikeouts and first pitch outs like they had last season.

I think I still have some cups from McCoy that have the line score from the 33 inning game.

At least Phil Hughes made it through 5 tonight. :p

Haha, I have a bunch of those cups. I used to live about a quarter mile from McCoy.

Well the DBacks jumped on Greg Maddux and everyone in the starting lineup got to face him in the first inning. Taking advantage of a tired squad.
