Considering the rookie knuckleballer was responsible for half of the Rangers' score, I'm not too worried.
More importantly, thanks to Youk's two homers, DP's 5 hits, Drew's 2 hits, 2 walks, and 3 runs, and Lowell's hits and stolen base (!) I had quite a haul in my fantasy league today. Props to Johan Santana (yay for his lead not being blown by the bullpen!), Randy Johnson, and B.J. Ryan too.
I was watching the score of the Rangers-Red Sox game on the scoreboard at Dodger Stadium last night and hoped out loud that the Rangers would tie it up in the top of the ninth, if only so we'd see a 38 run game go into extra innings. I imagine that would have been historic.

Umm, it's not a big deal. It was a rookie knuckleballer making his first MLB start against the Texas Rangers.. the best offense in MLB.
I'm actually happy that they were able to score runs.. the offense has been pretty ****** lately.
From that list, the only one that has a chance of happening this year is White Sox vs. Cubs.
Although I naturally would like to see LA vs. LA, the only one of them that's very interesting from a bigger baseball perspective is White Sox vs. Cubs. Cubs haven't been in so long and both teams have existed AND been in Chicago for a very long time.
I dont think I would call any of them a dream series, more like a cross-town series.

For many those are dream series. The crosstown interstate rivalry. I think 2 are possible, LA and Chicago.
Agreed. Also from a bigger baseball perspective, most of these cross-town match-ups are little better than local wet dreams. If any of them actually happened, the rest of the country would probably be bored to tears. The Cubs getting into the series would be interesting no matter who they played.
let the cubs come to the southside. they proved earlier in the year they cant win here. then again the sox werent much better up on the northside. the first game was close with the game being tied going into the bottom of 9. other then that i dont think the cubs will win at the cell. the sox would have homefield advantage if it was to happen.

im not sure if its a local thing or a national ad campaign but the miller high life commercial where he goes into the club box at the baseball game, i swear if wrigley field had club boxes like that, it would have been taped at a cub game. they dont know what the hell is going on on the field. they are just yuppy types concerned about a showing off to corporate aholes and bringing them to cub games for some reason. they have no concern about what happens on the field.
with about 45 or so games left i still think it is to early to crown anyone yet. that said, they are superstitious but the same thing was being said about Red Sox fans and they pulled it out...
and the treatment of bartman was stupid and horrible.
The Twins don't need him. Period.
The Twins are just fine the way they are, I personally think the only thing that could make our team better is some better bullpen pitching which we will get when the rosters expand on September because our AAA team is full of great bullpen pitchers. Another thing that might be a better asset is a better SS other than Everett which we will get when Matt Tolbert gets back.

They used to have glassed in boxes below the press boxes at Fenway (the .406 Club) A couple years ago, they redid the section, getting rid of the glass and renaming something lame.
