well, you guys punked us for 2 of 3 this series, but you didnt have to face CC or sheets. I just cant wait for thew cubs to start losing:p

Very nearly a sweep as I must point out, and 6 for the last 7. The Dodgers are still playing short-handed, but I do like this lineup now. When you can put somebody hitting .295 in the eight-hole, you know you've got some bats.

very nearly a sweep both ways you mean? all three games were close;)

True, they were all close. Great games to watch as both teams were playing very tough. I was referring to the bottom on the 9th in game two, when Casey Blake very nearly had the game-winning hit. I don't recall the Brewers being quite that close in any of the games.

well last night went to exxtra innings so I consider that pretty close. either way they were well played games and we didnt have brauny for the first game. the crew needs to keep the bats rolling to stay on top of the wild card race. its going to be tough to catch the cubs the regular season but when we make the playoffs things will be very different:)

Among the long list of missing-in-action, the Dodgers are without Penny, Furcal, Jones or Saito. The last of these has been especially painful recently. The only game the Dodgers lost to the Brewers was due to not having a closer, as were the two ninth inning losses to the Giants earlier in the week. If the Dodgers have Saito, they're one or two games ahead right now instead of tied.

hmmm. this should help the rest of the pitching staff, although he is past his prime himself. this should be interesting.

Maddux taxes the bullpen for sure. He's good for 70-80 pitches, tops, these days. With the loss of Brad Penny (probably for the rest of the season) the Dodgers needed another reliable starter. Maddux is still good enough to plug the hole and is a much better guy to carry into the postseason than even a talented rookie like Kershaw, or a successful rehab job like Jason Johnson or Chan Ho Park

Yeah, I much prefer Maddux as a starter to Kershaw at this point. I'd kind of like to see Torre use Kershaw as a long reliever, both to get him innings and to keep the pressure off him. He's got a lot of upside. I've thought for a long time that not enough teams use the old Earl Weaver method of breaking in young pitchers in the bullpen and letting them graduate to the starting rotation when they have the stamina.

It's still done sometimes. Billingsley spent some of the first two seasons in the pen. Actually I was kind of shocked when Kershaw was allowed to throw around 100 pitches in that game against Philadelphia last week especially when he was having such a hard time getting the breaking ball over.

well Im really pissed. sheets really seems to suck a$$ since the sabathia aquisition. is he trying to say something by sucking so much A$$????

rays best team in baseball with yet another comeback win today. yeah, i'm sounding like one of their fans, but they are a good team to pull for, especially since the braves are in the toilet.

The Rays are a great team to root for. So many good players on that team. I guess that's what happens when you draft in the top 5 every year for 10 years. Their starting pitching is set for years and years with Kazmir, Shields, Garza, Sonnanstine and David Price soon to come. That's an insane rotation. All those guys are under team control for a few more years, I believe. I think all they really need would be some bigger bats. They are fine as they are with guys like Pena and Longoria alreay driving in runs and BJ Upton should just get better. But If they really want to crush everyone and win 120 games a year, they should go get a big time bat. Hey, isn't Manny a free agent after the season?

thechidz is pumped the ryan braun is back smacking homers for the crew. with the cards losing and the crew about to beat pitt they will move to 3.5 up in the wc race:cool:

4 in a row... and Zito got the win...

soooo, where do you think it will go? I admire your perseverence;)

crew goes for the sweep against pitt tomorrow afternoon with CC the lock on the mound... then sheets and parra square up against the cards for a double that could be a major deciding factor in the wc race this year. I hope sheets gets off his schneid. this could be fun

if we can get it up about 3O in a row we could win the west...

nowhere, really, just enjoying the fact that we strung together 4 in a row...

Yeah what's up with Sheets? He started the all-star game and I'm not sure if he's won a game since. Brewers might be thinking about letting Sheets go and spending the $$ on CC instead.

Brauns homer was cool. How Gorzelanny went up and and in one pitch and two pitches later Braun sent one up and into the seats. Nice.

Twins try to take 3 of 4 from the Angels today. All I was looking for was a split so I'm already happy but winning 3 of 4 from the best team in baseball would be sweeeeeeet.

benny had one complete game win since the break, otherwise pretty unimpressive. I dont think the crew will be able to afford either sheets or sabathia after this year unfortunately. CC especially will be able to demand a few carribean islands for himself:eek:

Love Brauny! He knew that ball was gone as soon as he smacked it:) Im also glad to see the angells finally drop a series;)
