Real progress will be achieved when footballers are taught to properly knot their tie.
Charlton Athletic, we salute you.
Phil Brown has left Hull City!
The Club confirms that Phil Brown's contract has ended with immediate effect and that he is no longer the manager of Hull City Football Club.
We thank Phil for his significant contribution during his time as manager and we wish him well for the future. The Club greatly appreciates Phil's co-operation, patience and understanding throughout the conciliation process.
Three months since he was placed on gardening leave. Blimey.
In other amber-hued news, we've today announced a 'long standing' deal with Adidas which will see the tri-stripe toting Teutons supplying our polyester rags from July onwards. Of course, this is no news to us here as I hinted at the switch to Adidas almost a year ago...![]()
Striped shirts are my preference, and the one you're referring to was indeed a thing of great beauty – I'm wearing mine now, as it happens.well done jaffa. i hope that addidas start making good looking kits now. the one you lot had a season ago, with the thick black and amber stripes was beautiful...

The stripes have smaller dashed stripes running alongside them that I'm not keen on, and this shirt commits the heinous crime of having a totally plain back something that will spoil any striped shirt, and something that is unnecessary for us because black and amber don't contrast against each other as much as some other combinations (like Wednesday's blue and white, for example), meaning that white numbering and lettering can be used and be easily visible.
The template is available in black and yellow ambercize that yellow and I'm guessing next season's kit won't be a million miles away from this...

The only other option would be for us to get a Hull Cityized version of a striped shirt worn by another Adidas-clad team (Milan, for example), or for us to get a totally bespoke design. I think the former isn't that likely, and there's no way the latter is going to happen they just don't do that sort of thing for clubs of our stature.
And to think we switch from Umbro just as they're about to roll out their very lovely 'Tailored' range across all their club teams. Pah.![]()
Is Kenny Dalglish going to be the next Kevin Keegan?
The Hodgson rumors continue. He's a quality manager, possibly more suited to Liverpool than Benitez was, but why would he want to leave Fulham when he's done so well there?
Giants eh? Must be all those PL titles and European trophies we wonLeague One new boys Dagenham & Redbridge will start the new season at former Premier League giants Sheffield Wednesday on 7 August.
Given that the 2010-11 fixtures are out, there's no reason not to start one – although I imagine it would be a bit quieter than usual due to the World Cup, which has its own dedicated thread of course.Surely we'll need a 2010-11 thread soon.
