My expectations are relatively low for the Rangers this year. They're so hard on their fans—they've been consistently good enough to flirt with the playoffs, but never good enough to go anywhere, and never bad enough to be comical. No excitement!

I'm happy as long as we can still come out ahead of the Isles! ;) Let's go Rangers!

Nope.

On January 31, 2010, Hagman was traded along with Jamal Mayers, Matt Stajan and Ian White to the Calgary Flames for Dion Phaneuf, Fredrik Sjöström and prospect Keith Aulie.

Shows how much I pay attention. I didn't have television for a good while when I first moved out, so I missed 3/4 of last season. But I finally got it, so I will definitely be able to watch the Stars more often.

I have a signed Hagman jersey, and the used stick that I have of his I want to get signed as well. But if he keeps moving around, there is no way for me to get signed! :(

Maybe if he were still with the leafs, Surely would have a package on the way to his house, along with a self addressed box to ship it back:p

Well, unless he gets traded to the Kings, that won't do you any good.:p

<--------- I live in Los Angeles.

You know the crazy thing is, I have noticed that plenty of times. Guess it didnt come to mind that time

How did the leafs become your favorite team? Were you born there and moved or just have you always liked them?

If I ever moved from Dallas, I would remain a Stars fan at heart, but depending on the city I moved to, I would cheer for that squad.

Surely
Boy,does time fly. How was your summer? It felt like last week since my boyz were in the Cup finals:D

Right now it's baseball season here in Philly...

I can't weight for hockey season to kick in :)

Peace

The summer was great...... spent a lot of time watching the little one start to grow up.

I hope that you're enjoying Doc Halladay and his (so far) 18 wins. I loved watching that guy pitch in Toronto.

Here's an interesting stat: Halladay leads the majors with 2282/3 innings pitched. He has thrown 19 more than the next closest in the National League, St. Louis' Chris Carpenter.

Chris Carpenter is also an ex-Blue Jay. We're like a pitching farm team!

I can't wait for hockey as well. The Leafs are looking better, and I'm totally stoked that Dion Phaneuf was named captain (as I said he would be when he was acquired). We got some toughness, a little goalscoring, and a little more D over the summer, and our goaltending looks solid for the first time since the Belfour days.

I heard Briere lost some more weight over the summer. What does the little guy weigh now, a buck 25?:p

St. Louis thanks you for giving us Carp. Any more good pitchers and hitters you guys feel like giving away? I wouldn't mind having Bautista :p

Enjoy your little guy now, because once he turns into a teenager you won't see alot on him:D My two boyz won't even let me go and watch them play hockey:(

And thanks for "Doc Halladay":D:D:D

Hopefully your boyz will be alot better this season:cool:

Peace

^^^Thanks robo

You're welcome for Doc.

Hopefully your boys will be a little bit worse.:D Kidding of course, but hopefully they won't be good when playing against my boys.

The league announced in a press release Monday that they have fined the Devils $3 million and that the club will forfeit their third-round draft choice in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft as well as a first-round draft choice in one of the next four NHL Entry Drafts.

It will be the Devils' decision which year they will forfeit the first round choice. They must advise the NHL of their decision by the day following the conclusion of the Stanley Cup Final in the calendar year in which the pick will be forfeited.

Hopefully Kovalchuk will be worth it!

The new Stars goalie helmet has arrived. All incoming pucks will now be roundhouse kicked into the opposing net.

I was born, and lived, in Toronto. Moved to CA a few years ago.

Will always be a Leaf fan.

Grew up in the Boston area during the Bobby Orr era. Moved all around the US and watched the bourque era. I don't think I could ever give up watching the bruins have a decent season only to turn around and disappoint in the playoff.
They are my home team but I do enjoy watching Detroit, AVs, Stars and the Rangers.

That is sweet. Stars should def win this year, as no pucks can get by Chuck Norris.

Chuck Norris does not say what time it is, he decides what time it is.

Well, my Panthers are not going to do much again this year. I just hope they can finish with the top pick in the draft, so they can get Larsson or Couturier. The Panthers did an amazing job during this summers draft, and one more top prospect will give them one of the top prospect pools in the league. They have their future goaltender, a very good top four defensive core, and some good youth at forward. All they need now is that top line forward, which would be Couturier. Of course, adding Larsson to a group consisting of Gudbranson, Kulikov, Ellerby, Robak, Garrison, etc. would give us a lethal defensive core.

Well the preseason finally started, its to bad that none of the preseason games air on tv. Is it like this for everyone? Or is it just here in Dallas?
Only a couple more weeks for the season to start, can't wait to finally watch some hockey!:D:D

They show almost all, if not all, of the preseason games on tv in Toronto. On the other hand, I don't think the media here in LA even know there is a preseason in the NHL.

It depends on the market and if it's worth it or not for the team to televise their preseason games. Hell, the Leafs still charge big bucks for their preseason home games.......and people pay it.

The Leafs have had a bad and a good game so far. I don't think they care as much about winning as they do about learning their systems and how to play with their new teammates.

Amen, Its all Cowboys here in Dallas. I am not even a football fan, and it just drives me crazy how the news is Cowboys this and Cowboys that....Same thing in the NFL offseason. If and if the stars win, they will say..."Stars beat Nashville last night, 3-2...and now on to..."

It's all football in Texas, oh well...
Guess I have to move north to get some decent NHL coverage ;)

You can always get the NHL Channel and CenterIce......

I get most of my info from tsn.ca, sportsnet.ca, and a little from hockeybuzz.com. I also am subscribed to the podcast of the Fan590's Centre Ice radio show (which used to be called Hockey Central at Noon), which has great info, good hosts, and good guests.

I'm not a member of any NHL boards, as I find that it's pretty much a "your team suxors" type of environment. It's rare to find good discussion.....

I would get center Ice, that would be pretty cool. But, I would be in front of the TV 24/7. Its better I just stick with NHL.com and watch highlights.

I go to the Stars forums every now and then and browse, but it gets hacked alot and is just a bunch of spam.

Surely
Your boyz against my boyz tonight. What do you think?:D
Can't get in to hockey yet the way the Phils are playing;)
But I will be watching the Leafs/Flyers tonight, why you ask, the Phils have the night off:D

Peace

Yeah, they're playing in London, Ontario (2 hour drive from Toronto), but it's a Flyers home game. I went to school in London...... good times.

Does it really matter who wins? I doubt either team will play their top players much if at all.... I just hope it'll be a respectable game for both sides. Tell your boys to lay off trying to injure anyone.....:p

Plus, it's the Leafs' 3rd game in 3 nights, and they play again tomorrow night. Just get the preseason over-with already.....

Be patient my man, were almost there:D

Its not Center Ice that will put you in front of a TV 24/7. That would be the NHL Network-that's the channel that has hockey 24/7. So far it has not happened, but we will see how it goes once the puck drops.

I feel for Wild fans-lose a backup goalie to a torn ACL from a collision in a pre-season game.
