I'm going to home opener tonight against the Avs:cool:Can't wait to see that Stastny kid,he's going to be a BEAST...;)

Peace

Stars are off to a great start as well. Its good to see Morrow and Ribeiro have a strong start. Adam Burish on their line seems to be working pretty good so far. When we play Detroit on Thursday, that will be an awesome game. Looking forward to it.

Hopefully Ribeiro will chill out on the Sake Bombs from now on:

Dallas Stars center Mike Ribeiro was arrested Sunday on a charge of public intoxication in Plano, Texas.

Yeah he is.

Enjoy the game robo.

And in other news....... an incident involving Sean Avery in which the other guy is going to be suspended. How refreshing.:p

http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/pu...iewski-lewdly-shows-Sean-Avery?urn=nhl-276136

The last line of the article is hilarious once you watch the video:

"No NHL player has ever been suspended for type of obscene gesture Wisniewski used on Avery today, but one suspects that is about to change."

Absolutely. This incident will not blow over. It's something the NHL needs to get a grip on before it explodes.

The Blues are absolutely dominating the Ducks right now (yeah, day hockey on a weekday? Never heard of that either).

It's about time St. Louis has a hockey team doing the ass kicking instead of having their ass kicked.

haha, yea...That happened pretty close to me, and about that time I heard like 3 or 4 cop cars with their sirens on, maybe it was them?
Anyway, this is his first offense I believe, unlike Eddie the eagle Belfour (who usually got in trouble with the law and drinking alot), Mike will probably still play on Thursday

Toronto and Edmonton at the top of their divisions. Enjoy it while you can! ;)
(And I'm an Oilers fan.)

Ah, the Avs. My #2 team.

(I'll always be an Oilers fan, though, having grown up in Edmonton, living through the great 80s Oilers dynasty, going to the same high-school as Mark Messier, and having the Stanley Cup at my grad banquet!)

The Leafs are 3-0 to start the season...... we beat Pittsburgh tonight 4-3.

Giguère is 2-0, Gustavsson is 1-0. Very nice.

:D

Did anyone catch Avery's comments about the gesture?

"Can you imagine if I did that?" he said. "They sent me to rehab the last time I did something. It's crazy."

I just find it amusing that we are talking about avery as a victim of something.

As for Riberio-couldn't he wait to start drinking his miseries away untill at least Thanksgiving? I mean I know its hard to think of a Stars team without Modano but thats no reason to get in the middle of a chick fight at a Sushi bar.....

Have you used all the champagne from winning the draft lottery ? Might as well use it

He's right though. The NHL is completely inconsistent when it comes to handing out suspensions. He would have been given a 10 gamer if he did that.

Look at what happened this week: a guy who makes an obscene (but hi-larious) gesture (Wisniewski) gets the same 2 game suspension as a guy (Hjalmarsson) who hits someone from behind. WTH is that?

Its all about Phil Kessel....

Two goals, one assist, +1 on the season in three games. I'll take that as long as we keep winning.

Kessel's a streaky scorer.... he'll come around.

Who scores more this year: Kessel or Seguin?

Surely
Your boyz are 3-0 Wow...:D It was nice to see Colton Orr get his ass kicked
Peace

I know, right? Pretty sweet start so far.

Hopefully Orr's okay.... he had to sit the last bit of the game out after that fight. And at least he scored a goal. :D

I totally agree-if he did that he would have gotten 20 or more. That said, he is a repeat offender and that is taken into account. But yes there is and always will be a double standard.

True, he is a repeat offender, so a longer suspension wouldn't be out of the question. However, as you said, the double standard is there.

I still can't get over that the NHL didn't think of how ridiculous giving the exact same suspension for completely different circumstances on the same day. Especially after emphasizing how dangerous head-shots are all summer. This could have been their opportunity to show how serious they are about that.

Ah well.....

Home opener tonight for the Stars, being 2-0 and Detroit loosing the other night against CO has got to give us an edge, lets go Stars!
