Congratulations to Red Bull on winning the Constructors World Championship.

Ditto on that, they really have produced a remarkable car, can't quite believe it's been 12 years since a Newey car last won the constructors championship either.

As much as I'm not a fan of Fred, I still hope he'll sneak the title, which given the advantage Red Bull have enjoyed throughout the season would be a quite remarkable achievement when you think about it.

Failing that, I hope future Ferrari driver Vettel will snatch it, had he not shouldered a somewhat unfair ratio of mechanical and reliability problems, he'd already be WDC by now, and deservedly so IMHO.

But if I had to put money on it, I think Webber will take it, though I can't quite help but feel he'd be the least deserving of the three given the number of driving incidents and his continued petulance.

I think Vettel -- in a fit of rage -- will pull a Schumacher and deliberately take out both Alonso and Webber at Abu Dhabi. The FIA will DSQ him and his points haul for the entire season, and both championships will fall to McLaren.

Failing that, I hope future Ferrari driver Vettel

Please no! I'd put almost any driver* in a Ferrari instead of Vettel. IMHO, he is a big baby. Gosh, I don't usually post such things but I'd really be upset with Vettel driving for Ferrari. He hasn't shown the maturity or the ability to be a team player to even be considered.

*Well, almost any other driver.

Are you sure you're not confusing Vettel with Webber? ;)

Webber is probably the nicest man anyone could ever meet, and with the amount he's put up with from Red Bull this year I'm surprised he's still there. He also has a sharp sense of humour, and his "No. 2 driver" comment was an example of that, not outright anger. He would always walk around the factory, going into random offices and talking to people. He would make time for everyone, even if he was being asked the same thing over and over again ("Can I see your leg x-ray?" and yes, you could).

Vettel, however, comes across to me as a bit of a child. When things don't go his way he'll storm off and ignore people, he likes to be treated like the best and can't stand it when he gets beaten fair and square. I expect that he'll grow out of it, but for now he acts spoilt. Talk to him and you can tell he wants to be somewhere else.

It wasn't humour, nor anger it was petulance. And his continued attacks on his team, can hardly be considered the qualities of a team player.

But professional conduct aside, I don't know either of them personally… but I suspect neither are kitten killers in everyday life. ;)

There is a difference in "attacking" a team and rebutting once "attacked". Webber was responding to actions already taken, or rather not taken by the team. I take it you don't support that?

The worst part about this cry baby mentality is that Webber not only has to put up with it from his own team via Vettle, but he's also suffering from the Ferrari side as well. If Vettle is leading and Alonso is in a position to win then RB has indicated that Vettle would know what is best and pull aside for Mark (assuming he's in second). However, I'm curious how that scenario - rank order on track - would need to be and play out if Alonso was only 1 point ahead. What will be worse is if Alonso wins by 7 points or less. I think it will last as a blemish due to the incident in Germany.

Btw, if Vettel moves over to let Webber win due to Alonso's position on track, if I were Alonso and wanted to spite somebody I'd break and let more cars past me so that Vettle could have won had he crossed first. :D

But he continues to respond, doesn't he.

I put to you that it is questionable whether Red Bull have actually "attacked" Webber though, certainly Webber has been involved in several incidents this season that have been deserving of criticism from his employers, because all of them, had Webber used a little common sense, would have been entirely avoidable, and he would therefore in all probability, already be WDC.

I take it you don't support that?

Do I support such petulant behaviour from a 34 year old? No I don't.

The thing is, Webber is a really good driver, he's immensely quick, and like Schumacher, hard, often fair and occasionally dirty, he really shouldn't worry about the rest of the b*llsh*t IMHO.

Should the circumstances arise, I fail to see how Alonso winning the WDC by less then 7 points is any more of a blemish then Red Bull implementing a similar strategy at Abu Dhabi to that employed by Ferrari at Germany. Red Bull are giving Vettel the choice, by indirect pressure to do the right thing for the team, much like what Ferrari did at Germany. Is it really any different?

Just out of interest, do you see Lewis Hamilton's 2008 World Championship as blemished?

Heheheh. :p

I imagine because even if he doesn't win the WC this year, it's still the best option he had for 2011.

Alas, I think if he can't pull it off this weekend, he won't have the same chance in 2011 as I expect RBR to back Vettel even more (honestly, by letting Vettel win in Brazil, I am inclined to think they don't care if Webber wins the WC now that they have the CC).

For anyone confused as to the possible outcomes on Sunday this ought to help...

A bit worried for Webber based on his qualifying position. If Vettel can win, RBR appears to want him to win, even if that hands the DC to Alonso. But anything can happen, which is why they run the race. :)

Only a bit worried? :p Barring some catastrophic crash or perhaps engine failure for Alonso, I believe Webber's WDC hopes are toast.

As much as I want to see Webber win the WDC, I've pretty much come to terms with the fact that it won't be him. I'd settle for Vettel at this point. Pretty much anyone but Alonso in fact. :)

Ooh, exciting!

I've changed my 'tar in support.
(just hope it updates before the race finishes!)

Nice graph, robbie.

Today is going to be amazing. I'd like Hamilton to win, failing that Webber, but I think Alonso will. I think Webber has been the best driver all year, and had it not been for him being taken out by Vettel, could have almost won the championship already.

Just about time. Rooting for Alonso. What do you think the chances that Vettel does something "rash" and takes himself and another out of the race? Just wish the last race was in a different location. Would prefer a track with more elevation changes and some trees:). Hoping for a great race, either way it's gonna be a long wait til '11. Cheers

Eeeeee!

Here we go!!!

Hmm ... I wonder where a cheeky pit stop would put Webber. I'd worry he's losing too much time to Vettel to make overtaking worthwhile.

EDIT: About last! Maybe he should've during the safety car.

EDIT2: Er ... Webber appears doomed?

Petrov and Rosberg are going to be crucial. Both of them have had their stop, and both are ahead of Alonso. Vettel is in a good position at the moment.
