Having owned my MBP i7 2010 with SSD since a month, I have had 3 kernel panics.

The last one (today) is attached.

or maybe they have to recognize that is a massive defect?
anyway, i have to prove that is still a random error but with that i can't work! all my datas are inside a external hd, stored with time machine. thanks god i have a pc, very old but still working.

im surprised apple hasnt just made a statement about this issue to the public :/

hopefully they fix this soon or at-least in there next gen mbp's

I've lost the track of this issue since few month ago, cause I've been a little bit "diconnected" bout this world.

Is everything fine now? Since May? Or it seems to still like first days?
Any solution from Apple?
Did it make it public now?

How is everything going?

Try connecting some Firewire device to the internal FW port and look if this cures the freezing issues (your Mac may run hotter though).

I guess I'm reviving this thread a bit. I've been having freezing issues lately with my 2010 15" 2.4/4GB anti-glare Pro for awhile now, and am wondering if any real solutions appeared? I have the EFI firmware update from August installed and am on 10.6.7. I purchased the machine a year ago today so may be SOL in terms of Applecare (I'm near an Apple store however). Anyone have suggestions?

Random issues cropping up lately

I have got my MBP last May and had HDD replaced which sent back the beach ball to where it should be...

But ever since I have updated to 10.6.7 I am having random glitches. Apps don't quit like in Windows. They just stay and refuse to quit like they used to. Programs stops randomly every now and then. Also beach balls seem to be coming back as well...

I did not have any issues prior to 6.7 and also did not have any significant system settings change so I am getting a bit worried again...

This isn't happening to me as often (from what it sounds like) but it does seem like 10.6.7 has made things worse on my end.
I left mine at Apple overnight running a diagnostic that came back clean, so I guess we'll see how things go from here.

Any solution?

Hi,

I am super newbie to this site and came across this thread. I apologise if this is not the right place to put this but I don't know how else to go about it.

I bought my Macbook Pro in early 2010 (Feb). I have no had any problems until the last month or two. Maybe longer, I ignored it at first as I just thought the machine was a bit busy.

It started of sporadically freezing and then springing back into action 30secs later or so. However now it seems to completely freeze until I am forced into a hard restart. Sometimes it also just stops during start up and gives me grey screen of death forever (I tried leaving it overnight once and it never booted).

Yesterday I tried repairing the disk and permissions with install disk in disk utility. That got me past the grey screen however the little beast still seems to freeze up and act sluggish.

So... in summary the issue is mainly after start up although grey screen is a problem sometimes as well. I hope this all makes sense - and oh, do let me know if this is the completely wrong place to put it!

Oh, I updated to 10.6.8 but the problem started before that, so 10.6.7 related? And if it is, what can I do about it...?

Cheers!
