The complete list of owners is set in the league and new players should have invites waiting for them at their personal email. I need everyone to log into the league and confirm in this thread that they have joined. I can't tell by looking at the league if the veterans have joined or not since they are not new players. I don't want to set the draft until we've all confirmed that we're a go. Some of you have already done so, but if you haven't then please do and let us know about it here.

For the new players, you are being added as a second owner to an existing team that was run by a player last year who is not returning this year. Once you have logged in you can delete the previous player from being an owner and make all the customizations you want to make the team your own. (change name, colors, avatar, etc.)
As far as the draft goes I'm currently leaning towards the afternoon of Sunday 8/29. Like around 2:00 PM. Thoughts, conflicts, etc.?
EDIT: One other thing, last year there was some debate about the tie rule for weekly match-ups. The league was set where in the event of a tie the person who's bench scored the most points was given the win. Some didn't like this and argued that bench players should in no way have an impact on the weekly game because they were put on the bench for a reason. I would like for us to discuss this issue and decide together what tie rule we would like to use. The league provides the following tiebreaker options:
- None (the game is left a tie)
- Home team wins (now this is just dumb since the home and visitor team is chosen and random and means nothing)
- Most QB points (whoever's starting QB scored more wins)
- Most RB points (whoever's starting RB's scored more wins)
- Most WR points (whoever's starting WR's scored more wins)
Based on our settings from last year our league still shows "most bench points scored" as our selection, but this is not an option when I go to edit the settings. So, they could have done away with this option or they could have grandfathered it in as long as we don't change it.
So, thoughts and feedback please?

I agree that tie breakers should not be determined by the bench. It simply rewards the deeper team, not the team that made the right decisions throughout the week to play the proper guys. Also, letting one position determine the win doesn't mean the overall team was better.
As it stands, I am leaning towards leaving it as a tie.

Accepted invite and joined; 8/29 is perfect for me. Rule wise I don't have a huge issue with bench players being the tie breaker but I can see the difference of opinion there. I've seen this utilized as a standard tie breaker however in other leagues.

Yep, just log in with the same user id and password you had from last year. The problem is the league shows your status as already joined since you are returning from last year so I have no way of knowing if you have truly logged in or are having problems. That's why I've asked everyone to post up in this thread when they have successfully logged in.
Just a reminder that we need this draft to get set sooner than later.

The scoring system for our league is determined by whole numbers correct? One of the other leagues that I've been in for the past few years has been scoring based on decimals (ie. 224 yards passing = 22.4 points). If there is an option to use decimal scoring in ESPN leagues, this could help cut down on quite a bit of possible ties. If it's still tied after decimal scoring, then I think it should stay a tie.
If the scoring is kept at whole numbers, I think that a tie should stay a tie... as long as there are ties in the real NFL, there should be ties in our fantasy NFL.

I'm going to set the draft for Sunday 8/29 at 2:00 PM US Central Time. The ESPN times shown are Eastern so they are one hour ahead of Central. Speak now or forever hold your peace.
I shall make plans to not have anything else planned. I may be connected through 3G tethering, so if I go slow...PISH POSH
Unless I'm confused fireshot Eastern is one hour ahead of Central so our draft will actually be at 2PM Central and 3PM Eastern.

We're changing it from 3 divisions to 4 so that we can have a 13 week season and three week post season. This adjustment will enable us to play our championship on Week 16 of the NFL season and hopefully avoid the possibility of players being benched in week 17 for rest. Like last year there will be 6 teams in the playoffs, the 4 division winners and two wildcards. The two teams with the best regular season record will earn a first round bye.
The draft order will be:

rhett7660, if you have to work do you have a friend who can draft for you or will you just be setting it on auto? If you have to use auto then please go into your draft settings and set up a strategy/order. If you don't then the system will automatically pull the top rated player for you on every turn and this means you'll get a lot of running backs in a row and then not good selections for the other positions.
