Confirmed or not, my 2011 MBP keeps dropping my wifi connection. I believe it.

Mine too ('11 17in 2.3)
Without much investigation, It seems mine only does it with safari . I dont seem to notice it while using chrome.

When it happens, sometimes I have no listed networks and others I have them all. Turning off wireless and back on takes care of the issue

Reviving this thread. I have seen a huge improvement in wireless performance with the latest update. Can anyone else confirm?

This is what I get on my 11n network now:
round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 0.655/2.753/5.460/1.147 ms

When quoting the figures, it might be useful to also mention the signal-to-noise ratio at the time as this is variable and will influence transmission rates.

Weird that you mention it though because my ping speeds have come down a tad and that's with a 2010 15" MBP.

round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 1.124/2.657/3.073/0.543 ms
SNR: 0.404 dB
Link speed : 300 Mb/s
802.11n 5GHz

round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 2.736/2.958/3.916/0.336 ms
SNR: 0.34 dB
Link speed : 144 Mb/s
802.11n 2.4 GHz

Edit: Because 802.11 uses CSMA/CA with RTS/CTS, make sure there are no other devices communicating with your router during the tests as your results will be skewed.

I've had mine only a week and haven't noticed any wifi issues. I did update the same afternoon I got it, so maybe its been fixed?

I received my 15" i7 a few days ago and immediately noticed slow internet and dropped connections. After some research, I came across this thread and also noticed erratic ping times. Changing router settings to use n or g or mixed g/n didn't resolve anything, and neither did messing around with security settings. All of this while my PC connects with no problems.

I installed updates for the first time since I got the computer, and while I'm not sure if the problem has been entirely resolved, my connection is now more stable. Before, ping times were ranging from <1 ms to 100+ .. Now it remains at around 3 or 4.

From what I've read in other threads, this update hasn't worked for everyone, but i thought my experience was worth sharing.

I spoke too soon. While my ping time is now stable, if I am inactive for a few minutes, my connection drops. I am still connected to the network, but I can't load pages or ping to it. I have turn airport off and then on again to get it working again. :(

Looks like I have a similar issue. Same network as before, same position as before:
124 packets transmitted, 18 packets received, 85.5% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 0.851/22.350/120.525/34.984 ms

keep complaining.

i have a mobile modem 1KM away from a tower and the ping is 300-500

disconnects ever 2 mins if not use

31kB/s for promised 3.2mB/s

hellhole called indonesia >:V

and you now complain again?

Just FYI - it's highly unlikely to be using RTS/CTS. Most 802.11 devices ship with that option disabled or at least the threshold is high enough that RTS/CTS doesn't get used. Besides - it shouldn't skew the results - the time frame is several orders of magnitude different.

Mine has gotten a little better, but the odd thing is it seemed to happen after I installed the recently released flash update.

Dunno what that would have to do with it....

Atanyrate, it still seems to drop the connection more than it should, just not as often as before....
