Maybe serial number range? Any ideas...

EDIT: so, ...

Samsung = LTH....
LG = LP...

SSD
Samsung = SM...
Toshiba = TS...

?

if so, maybe we can include this in the first post?

thanks!

I believe the SSD drives only has an effect on sequential read and write.

Sorry, but most MBA users won't be doing this for massive GB file transfers often anyway. For everyday tasks, or even moving 50 or 100 MB around, it's not going to make a significant difference (maybe a few seconds?).

Stop caring about the small stuff, and enjoy your new laptops. ;)

It appears that (almost) everybody who orders an 11" MBA with 128 GB SSD gets a Samsung model.

Having said that, it doesn't matter if you have a Samsung 128 GB SSD because normally, 256 GB SSD drives are faster than 128 GB SSD drives anyway. ;) If you want speed, you'd get a 256 GB model, even if it's not Samsung.

But please correct me if I'm wrong.

SSD: SM128C
Display: the LP___ whatever LG Phillips one

after reading all this i am disappointed about the display, but i would like to see it side by side with a samsung to compare

I'm not convinced of anything. I think the whole thing is a wild goose chase.

All of a sudden the (insane) consensus is that Samsung is the winner and LG is a loser. I say BS.

Not only do I say BS, but why TF would I listen to nut cases? LOL
I' mean, i'm nuts for even posting here, so this place is like a lunatic asylum, really!

But, in the end, it's fun (but crazy), and expensive and stressful if you actually go so far as to act on this.
