The SSD seems to be NOT the same as the 21,5", but a "new" revision (check the number '2' at the code end)

What do you think?

I just geekbenched 11710 while copying files off my NAS onto the SSD.

Will leave the boot video for someone else to post as I have to go to work shortly, want to queue up my files copying over.

There were some software updates to do, the reboot after that was quicker than the time it took for my iPad to refresh this forum page !

cool, post some vid of it boot QUICK-ly, and System Profile, is the SSD something special?

I couldnt resist lol. In my lunch break i fired it up. Opened 30 apps in about 30 seconds lol. Its fast to start up, shutdown took 3 seconds.

Cant do anything else coz now back to work. I'll let the others post their stuff. :)

mine was 22/5 with ship date of 28/6. (Melbourne Australia). Originally was 4/7 ship date but was revised.

I'm hoping (deluding myself) that because its an education discount order they are holding it for the back to school sale to entice me to buy an ipad.......

Hey MankyManning,

It said "Syncreon Technology" in my confirmation of shipment email that Apple sent to me, but doesn't say it on the apple store tracking pages.

Hopefully it changes to a courier I recognise once it lands in the UK!

When did your ship?

10th June - not had any updates on the tracking page yet though

so, intersting stuff happening here. The SSD has a diffrent version name than the 21.5 so far i understand. Is this SATA2 or SATA3.. is the question. I cant wait for the benches and the video's!!

Mine's out for delivery, one day earlier than FedEx originally had scheduled. And I didn't even pay for expedited shipping!

Anyway, what kind of info are we supposed to post once the new computers are up and running? System Profiler screenshots and what else? :)

Oops, never mind, I see someone beat me to the punch. Anyway, to all those receiving their new machines, good luck and enjoy!

According to this site it's a SATA2:

Found via (Google cjaa0202):

Might it be possible it has more cache?

From the screenshots above, negotiated link speed is 3Gbps. It's a SATA-II drive.

Hmmm - my June 2nd ordered still says it's due July 22nd on the Apple order status page, but an Apple rep just told me on the phone that it's due to be shipped in the next 24 hours. Sod's law says it will arrive the ONE day this week when we'll be out! Never mind - way earlier than expected, so not gonna complain!

What do you think?

You go by the model number not the 'revision' number. My SSD for my 21.5 is:
CJAA0201

It may have updated firmware, which I doubt. The 01 as opposed to the 02 could mean just the difference and a way of Apple of differentiation between the two models of imac. Probably totally internal.

They are the same SSD. The TS256C. Which is the same model as last years BTO imac 27 TS256B. The only difference between the B and C models is the firmware. Which can be updated. They should have but in a SATA 3 SSD. Not the same as last years.
