- This could totally throw Sanchez off, he is fragile and needs consistency with Tebow coming in running plays or the wildcat it will hurt Sanchez's concentration... He needs to be in there managing the whole game in order to really develop... Plus he has to play with the pressure of having Tebow breathing down his neck, and New York fans/media asking for Tebow the minute Sanchez screws up..... Now some may say this is good motivation for Sanchez but I think it will hurt him

Really? Is Sanchez that much of a wuss that bringing someone else in is going to hurt him?

Official now Tebow is going to the Jets. Jets agreed to pay half of the 5 mil owed to Tebow.

Interestingly enough adam shefter reported that Tebow was given a choice of who he would like to be traded to between the Jets and the Jags... Apparently he chose the Jets, which surprises me i would think he would want to go home and to a place where he will be the starter.

Big day in the NFL today.

Re: Tebow to the Jets, wait... maybe/maybe not... okay, ya... Tebow to the Jets -- John Elway turned a former 1st round pick coming off a playoff run into a 4th round pick. I'm not a believer in Tebow as a QB but surely there was a team out there willing to bite as the season got a bit closer? I think Elway just wanted Tebow out as fast as possible to get the distractions out the door as well.

Re: Saints suspensions & fines -- Totally on board with fining the club, taking away draft picks. 1 year suspension for Payton, and indefinite suspension for Williams? Those were too harsh. Reduce them to 8 games for Payton and a full year for Williams.

about the Saints, i'm fully on board with the Williams suspension being indefinite since it seems he was the one behind it all. i'd concede the one year down to 6 or 8 games if the draft losses were first rounders though.

That surprised me to, I was certain he was headed to jville and I was shocked he CHOSE the jets

On another note... Seems like professional sports is becoming the soap operas for men as of late

Belichick got a small slap on the wrist for spygate compared to this. Sean Peyton is personally losing out on one years salary = $7 million

I think it's safe to say that videotaping isn't nearly as bad as these bounties. Belichick taped signals from an area in the stadium he wasn't allowed to tape in to analyze for future games. The Saints bet on deliberately trying to injure players of the opposing team. That is WAY worse, and the penalty definitely fits in both situations.

J-E-T-S JETS! Oh **** it.

Well strap in, its going to be an interesting season... Last year's media debacle at the end of the season is going to seem like an appetizer compared to what we are in for.

This can either work out wonderfully and revive our offense throwing other teams off..... Or it can be a total disaster in terms of team chemistry etc...

There's no in between :(

you totally nailed it.

what it adds up to is maiming people. wow. how base is that? it's very base. criminal in fact.

And, from what I read, the Saints were repeatedly warned by the NFL to stop it and they said they would but never did. Kraft and Belichick apologized and Belichick gave the whole "I misinterpreted the rules' speech which I presumable set better w/the NFL than repeat offenders that lied about cleaning up their act.

I still don't know how I fee about the suspensions, but I do agree they deserve a harsher punishment than what was doled out for SpyGate.

Tim Tebow in his press conference said that the he wasn't a part of the decision - the Broncos made the final choice.

Yep, if given the choice I'm sure he would of picked Jacksonville. The Jets situation is going to be very interesting next year. I bet Tebow is dreading the media experience and the potential locker room drama just as much as Jets fans are. Reportedly, he told some close friends recently that he would love to be back "home", referring to the South.

I did hear on Sportcenter this afternoon (take that for what it's worth) that the Jacksonville offer was actually better - but Tim Tebow actually did have some say and that he felt more "wanted" by management in NY. So....who the heck knows.

FWIW

RT @NYPost_Hubbuch: Asked if Jaguars told Tebow he would be their No. 3 and a special-teamer, Mike Mularkey just said: "That's confidential." Translation: Yes.

Serious question, Jets fans. Who would you rather have as your QB:

1. Mark Sanchez
2. Tim Tebow
3. Mark Sanchez/Tim Tebow split duty or some sort of hybrid

None of the above is not an answer, btw.

I think the punishments against the Saints are fully deserved. They were significantly increasing the chance of deliberately and seriously injuring a player. After being explicitly told not to do it, they lied about it and continued the bounties.

We would have taken him in Pittsburgh. After the crap Rothlisberger did we needed a little God stuff and prayer whipped on us. ;)

That would combine two of the things this Browns fan detests conveniently in the same place. ;)

It really sucks when your team trades for someone you dislike and the Jets have a long history of that.

That said, whatever the hell helps us win games. At least they are redoing their offense so it's not like trying to work Tebow into an existing one.

The NY Jews and Catholics are going to love him. :D
