I think I just witnessed a draft day miracle as the Patriots traded up twice and got defense!

Welcome to New England, Chandler Jones and Dont'a Hightower. So excited.

Those are good picks, IMO...I was watching the draft with a Cowboys fan (in a bar filled with them) and he was excited about trading to get Claiborne.

The Jets - meh...Coples apparently has a tremendous upside, but there are some negatives as well - including a work ethic problem. Another we'll see move with the Jets.

And the Texans took someone named Whitney - He'll fit right in here in Texas. :D

I think it had to be done. All those years where Belichick traded back to stock up on draft picks just didn't really pay off. Sure they got guys in the later rounds that they could plug in but ultimately it failed. New England is probably one of, if not, the team that's held to the highest standard, hasn't done anything in the playoffs and I think they realize they need to really start drafting instead of dropping back getting value picks and it was a good start with Jones and especially Dont'a Hightower.

I'm glad that there's someone out there like Jerry Jones who would do such "blockbuster" trade. As a Rams fan going into the draft it was Justin Blackmon or nothing - trade down. Glad we were able to trade down and get more pick to fill more needs. With 3 picks in the first half of the second round, Rams are looking good in filling OL, WR and RB needs, a rare sight when it comes to drafting.

I agree that it had to be done - in my opinion 2 seasons overdue. Hopefully both those guys can contribute right away, and we get some value for the secondary in the later rounds.

You illustrated your own point perfectly, considering they just came off another Super Bowl appearance. Losing it stinks, but in perspective, it was a great run and certainly not "nothing." But yeah, the standard is SB victories, and to that end they've failed as of late.

It's scary to think that New England could be once again be that balanced team they had during their Super Bowl years. And now that Manning is no longer a Colt, we just don't have that matchup we hope to look forward to in January. You can make the argument for Baltimore or Pittsburgh (and they're fully capable of beating New England) but right now where Tom Brady is just playing light's out and how it's a QB driven league, they just don't have the offence (or QB) to match Tom Brady and the Patriots offense.

Stop it!

The Jets now have Tim Tebow. The Pats should be afraid. Very, very afraid. ;)

I'm glad it seems like they're at least making the defense the #1 priority. I don't think my father could take another season of that "bend don't break" crap. I hesitate to put too much stock in 2 draft picks, but it seems the focus is where it should be, and that's all I ask. Brady's not getting any younger.

I can't see the Jets laying an egg two years in a row, I more feel bad that you have to somewhat root for that d0uche lord. And I think the Bills are going to be a pain in the arse this year.

Rooting for him will suck. And I agree, the Bills will be in the race too.

This is the Jets we're talking about...

Ditto about rooting for that guy. I haven't quite come to terms with it yet. And also agree about the Bills. They have definitely improved their team. With any defense, they are going to be a tough out in the division. And offensively, they are already better than the Jets (which isn't hard :p )

They didn't pick in the first round but BAL picking Courtney Upshaw makes up for that! Terrell Suggs, Ray Lewis and Courtney Upshaw?! I could not find a better fit for someone like Upshaw coming from a pro-ready system.

Ahh I don't know about the Brian Quick pick @ WR when you had Reuben Randle and Stephen Hill sitting there. Measurable are good (speed, height) but didn't know too much since it was expected that St. Louis would go for the top WR's. But more than pleased with the Janoris Jenkins! Finnegan and Jenkins should solidify the CB position. I hope Cordy Glenn is sell available at the 45 spot to solidify the line for Bradford.

EDIT: Definitely surprising with that RB pick. If the Rams were going to go RB, I would've figured LeMichael James or even Lamar Miller. I was hoping that they would go WR and get Reuben Randle since the WR position is such a need or at the very least go back to the offensive line and pick up a guard.

yeah, rooting for nice people always sucks.

Actually, rooting for a guy who you think does nothing more than disrupt your team is more like it. Oh yeah, there's also that doing a TV ad for a hate group thing.

Might be a lite version of "My country, right or wrong."?

Team buffs quite often 'look the other way'.

Agreed. It's good to see some more youth on the defense too. Hopefully these guys can both contribute to the pass rush.

lol, they're the jets. They've laid an egg every year since Joe Namath. Massively overrated every year by the media because they are from new york, but then they end up doing nothing every time.

Poor Kirk Cousins. First he drops a bit lower than expected and then he gets drafted by the Redskins (wth?) behind RG3. If RG3 pans out, he'll have 4 years of clipboards ahead of him. If RG3 gets hurt, he gets to deal with Rex Grossman and Mike Shanahan? Meh.

i don't think it is a hate group per se ... i think it is great that you can believe what you want but he can't express his opinions.

He's free to express them, and we're free to think he's a d0uche because of them - and wanting to limit anyone else's rights seems pretty anti-American to me.

So yeah, you're wrong. No one is saying he has no right to think and say what he wants. We're judging him for what comes of his exercising that right.

And where did I say he didn't have a right to say it? I am simply holding him responsible for his actions.

If you try to take away or restrict the rights of others, you're a hate group. Deal with it.

I can't believe the Bears didn't draft an offensive lineman. It's not like the current group is any good.

Yeah, no excuse really. I guess with the addition of Brandon Marshall and Michael Bush, my guess is that they'll continue to run the ball and setup the play-action (Forte is a 1000+ yard runner and Marshall, well we all know what he is capable of and he now has Cutler throwing to him again.) We'll see what the offence will look like now that Martz is gone.

lol. you both come off as hate speech! and name calling? he's not a great QB, that is a given, but he has won games. you don't like his politics, ok. everything after that is you just being mean. and that makes it seem, to me anyway, hypocritical. kettle calling the pot black.

We're "mean"? Seriously? What about the guy who wants to help make it so I can never marry my girlfriend legally? Or make it so that I can't adopt a child, even with the means and circumstance to do so?

If we were hypocritical, we'd be fighting to make sure Tim Tebow could never get married, and could never adopt, and would enjoy second class citizen status. Instead, we're criticizing him for his homophobic views.

Mean?! I hope you realize how ridiculous that sounds. We're talking about human rights here.
