Good grief, how are we even still ranked after the last two weeks? Well, that should be fixed after the LSU game.

I think y'all will play them tight. Despite the good passing performance against Bama, LSU's offense is still terrible. I bet MSU picks Mettenberger off three times. Almost no one wins in Baton Rouge so I won't go as far as calling for the upset, but I think it'll be very close.

Also, I'm still annoyed that this was ruled a fumble. Ultimately meaningless, but annoying anyway.

Welcome to SEC officiating. Plus, it was a makeup call for that BS 4th down call. There is no way that was a 1st down.

I couldn't believe no one tried (refs or Mullen) asked to review that 4th Down play. A&M wasn't even in that much of a hurry to snap the ball, either. They did a sideline audible instead of going for the quick-snap on 1st Down.

It's stuff like that non-challenge that annoy me about Mullen. When it became apparent the officials weren't going to review, I was screaming at the TV for him to challenge. Mullen seems to routinely pull rookie level mistakes.

Does Mullen call the plays for the offense? I have a theory that head coaches who call their own plays ultimately fail because they are too engrossed in the offensive game plan to adequately manage the entire game. They're always thinking a couple of plays ahead, about what they're going to do in Situation A or B, instead of paying close attention to what is actually happening on the field at any given moment.

Seems like that sort of coach, more than any other (save Les Miles—who gets away with most of his game mismanagement gaffs), tends to have more bonehead decisions than any other type.

Mike Gundy is a perfect example. He was able to get some talent up in Stillwater and put together some decent teams, but until he (was forced to) relinquished playcalling duties, he never had a lot of success and regularly made preposterous decisions at crucial times.

Mullen doesn't directly call the plays. Les Koenning is our OC, but Mullen has a big part in play calling. He also directly coaches special teams, which is something I wish he would relinquish. I do think one Mullen's problems is he is trying to micromanage the game, and won't let the coordinators have full control.

Koenning coached at A&M under Franchione. Never was a big believer in him, though he didn't really call plays while he was here.

I don't understand coaches who micromanage like that. This is big time football. You have to have faith in the guys who work under you to execute your game plan the way you want. If you don't have that faith, you hired the wrong guys.

I haven't been a big fan of Koenning, and I suspect he and Mullen have gotten into it on a few occasions. I know during the 2011 Auburn game, Mullen took over play calling, and we started moving the ball.

I'm really just speculating about Mullen being a control freak. There haven't been any rumors about it, but I have seen hints of it. As for the coordinators, I don't know what to think. I was tempted to cut Wilson some slack, as in the past two years, we have lost two 1st round draft picks on the DL, and two other NFL LBs, so dropoff is expected. However, I'm not even seeing good effort, which shows poor coaching to me. I think Wilson will stay, but I wouldn't be surprised if Koenning gets canned. The offense has been very bland and predictable. Also, he keeps trying stuff that hasn't worked all year, like that 5 wide set. Tyler Russell, for whatever reason, is slow getting rid of the ball, and he has gotten killed on that formation.

As much as I like Russell, I wouldn't mind seeing them starting backup QB Dak Prescott, and going back to the spread option of earlier years. He's a freshman, but I would rather take my lumps with him. This team doesn't have the personnel to be a pass-first team. None of the starting WRs are SEC caliber.

Dawgs can wrap up the East in the South's oldest rivalry this week
And perhaps put one of the final nails in Chizik's coffin
Hard to believe Auburn has a good chance to go 0 for the season in the SEC
But strange things have happened in this Dawg/Auburn rivalry, and they played LSU tough earlier in the year

Interested to see the A&M/Bama game and how Bama responds after the LSU game

If Coach Richt had this same resume in the Big 12 he would be bigger than Bob Stoops or Mack Brown, in the Pac-12 bigger than Kiffin (LOL) or Chip Kelly; in the ACC, bigger than Jimbo or even Frank Beamer; in the B1G, bigger than awe crap, they don't have anybody anyway... but he coaches in the SEC, land of the bigger than life coaches, and his only fault is not being Nick Saban. And even then, he is the only coach who will face Saban for the SEC Championship when it is all said and done.

Chance to crush the Gators SEC East hopes a second time tonight by beating Auburn

Auburn leads series 54-53-8. Dawgs can make it 6 out of last 7 and even the series tonight for first time since ’91 #GoDawgs #GATA

Not sure what you're smoking or drinking this morning down in SEC country to put Richt's resume over Brown's. Is Richt the better coach right now? Toss up, but probably. His whole body of work though? No chance.

Where's Richt's national championship? SEC Championships mean nothing if you can't win it all (See: LSU, 2011-12). It's also far too soon to see if he can keep it up - he's been going less than half as long as Brown.

Aggies looking good early on. Still lots of football left to be played, but A&M clearly wasn't intimidated about playing on the road against Alabama.

I'm happy to see Texas put a couple of solid wins together. I'm not sure that we'll beat TCU, and I'm damned sure we won't beat KSU, but eight wins is better than I hoped for. People have been calling for Mack Brown's head, but who would we get? I'm not convinced the coaching carousel is such a good idea for us.

I was really hoping A&M would pull out a win here after their first quarter domination, but it looks like they are going to throw it away. AS I was typing this McCarron just threw the SECOND long bomb to put Alabama within the 10 with 4 to go. I'm saying Alabama wins.

Oh. My. God. A&M interception on their own 2. Wow. What a mistake.

Pick! Aggies may hold on to this. What a game.

EDIT: I didn't like the play calling on the Aggie possession. I would have tried at least one play with a little effort for a first down. You've got one of the best playmakers taking snaps and you run it up the middle three times.

EDIT again! Oh wow - big mistake by Alabama.

Everyone kept saying in the offseason that the Ags would have a rude introduction to the SEC. I'm a Longhorn and all, but it's kind of cool to see the Aggies tell the SEC, "Welcome to us!"

Congrats Ignatius - this was a biggie!

'Bama simply got outplayed from the start. The last two games, the defense looked pedestrian especially with the deep ball (that wheel route in the second half, that should never be completed against a defense Alabama has).
