Alabama was outplayed last week and didn't get burned. I haven't gone back to watch the whole recorded game yet, but sounds like they got outplayed again and this time they got burned.

Now it's up to Oregon, KState, and ND (in that order). If 2 lose, 'Bama will be immediately back in the picture. If 0-1 lose, there will be no SEC representative in the BCS Championship.

Not so fast my friend, they will have to get past the Dawgs first
and they are playing much improved on defense with an offense that is clicking
I'd say the SECCG is not a given at this point

But I agree, 2 of the 3 unbeatens will need to lose for a 1 loss SEC team to get in, and rightfully so

I would say it is unlikely that all 3 finish unbeaten, but I doubt 2 of the 3 will lose

****

Kudos to A&M, I thought they would give 'Bama all they wanted, but I also thought 'Bama would find a way to win
Their mistakes were uncharacteristic, and credit A&M for causing them and capitalizing on them

Dawgs looked good against a hapless Auburn team
Looks like the Auburn players have given up on their coach and season

Alabama should have been able to get a touchdown from the 6 yard line and pull it out. But even if they had, they were outplayed, as they were last week. Too many mistakes - turnovers, missed tackles, poor execution.

Still, I assume that they'll win their next two home games to get into the SEC championship, which will be a tough game. No matter who wins that one, though, it's looking like the string of SEC national championships will come to an end unless something weird happens.

Kudos to Texas A&M for a great game. JM is an amazing quarterback.

It looks likely that the SEC will have 6 teams in the BCS top 10
#4-#9

Dawgs
Bama
Florida
LSU
SCarolina
A&M

It matters not whether KState of Oregon is #1, the other will be #2
ND will be #3 and on the outside looking in
I have no problem with KState and Oregon playing for the BCS
But ND will be a disappointment IMO if one of them loses

Edit: AP Poll

1. Oregon
2. KState
3. ND
4. Bama
5. Dawgs

Everyone kept saying in the offseason that the Ags would have a rude introduction to the SEC. I'm a Longhorn and all, but it's kind of cool to see the Aggies tell the SEC, "Welcome to us!"

Congrats Ignatius - this was a biggie!

Thanks, man. Fun times in Aggieland.

Probably not a surprise, but some folks on Twitter are saying Dooley is out at Tennessee.

Joker already out at Kentucky and John L. Smith at Arkansas was a lame duck already
Dooley is almost a certainty with Chizik to follow

Vols are 0-6 in the SEC and Auburn is 0-7
Dooley's overall record has been abysmal, Chizik at least had success 2 years ago

Everybody else seems to be on fairly solid ground in the SEC at the moment
Although Mizzou might bear watching next

Auburn is one stolen laptop and $185,000 away from three bad seasons.

The only success Auburn has rested solely on the player's shoulders - specifically Cam Newton and Nick Fairley. Chizik has not proved anything without them. He should definitely get the boot.

I agree. Can't see 2 teams losing. If one team is going to lose, I say it's ND. They're having a great season but I feel the pressure will eventually catch up (that 3/OT game surely didn't help).

Alabama had the opportunities to win that game despite being outplayed for most if not all the whole game but they shot themselves in the foot - something rarely seen by them under Saban.

Even if two of the unbeaten teams lose, which is unlikely, it'll still be a judgement call as to which one-loss team deserves to get into the NC. And I think that many of the voters will want to avoid giving Alabama a pass. I would like to see them play ND in a bowl game, though.

Alabama's play the past two games against tougher opponents has been off compared to earlier this season. I think that the team has been more affected by injuries than many people recognize: White, Hart, and Fowler out, and Lacy, Cooper, and Lester all injured to some extent. There's even been some speculation that McCarron has been hurt. Not that this is a valid excuse for errors in execution - Bama should have been able to score from the six no matter what - but definitely a factor.

Totally agree. They already proved it. Would happen by where they voted Alabama and Georgia this week. None of the three ahead of those two have another marquee game afainst an opponent as highly ranked/thought of as the SEC Championship foes. The computers will love the winner of that game, too, because both teams' SoS will get a big boost (assuming they take care of business before then).

The other BCS bowls also have some potentially exciting matchups. It's hard not to get excited about the prospect of OU and Nebraska playing each other in the Rose Bowl, even if (like me) you don't care at all about either team. Lots of cool story lines.

I know Saban is going to play Alabama like they're still in the BCS race and if they're able to run their rest of the schedule by a large margin and two of the top 3 lose, there is no doubt in my mind that Alabama will be in the BCS game. If Oregon, ND or K-State have a loss, unless you're a hater, you can't tell me you don't think Alabama isn't better than them with the same record. Even with a loss, I know those that are rational still believe Alabama is top 2 if not the best in the country.

Of course the game isn't played on "if's" but watching the story lines has become AS interesting as the game themselves.

Go Gators :)

Watched the Gators and the Ragin' Cajuns Saturday
What a bizarre finish to a game

The Gators and 'Noles should be an interesting game
As will the Cocks and Clemson

They should have the 'Noles and Clemson play a rematch for the ACC Championship
The other division is downright woeful

The Tide will be favored in the SECCG
But I like the Dawgs better in this game than in the LSU game last year

I don't think I've ever seen a game end on a last-second, punt block TD. Just nuts.

It will be interesting to see if Aaron Murray can take advantage of the cracks in the Bama secondary that Mettenberger and Manziel were able to, or if Saban/Smart can make adjustments to shore that up.

If Murray has a good game and UGA can get the running game going, too, they've got a great chance. If UGA's defense continues playing as well as they've been lately, they should be able to slow down Bama enough to win. But McCarron, Lacy & Co. are much more capable offensively than UF's offense, so it's probably not going to be another turnover fest for the Dawgs' D.

It was a crazy ending to a strange game for sure. It just sucks Driskel is going to be out until the bowl game. Wish we could play FSU with our normal team, and not a backup QB

I'm not big on Driskel but he is certainly been much, much better than the alternatives for UF this year. Beating FSU just became a much taller order. At least the backup has a warmup game against East Jesus State first.

Looks like theres some bad news for UF coming out today

Bad news other than the Driskel bit?

Congrats to A&M

The prospect of a championship game without a SEC team is refreshing.A&M besides being an excellent engineering school (their improvement in light agregate construction is some of the best in the country) played a good football game against Bama. A matchup against OU and Nebraska would be enjoyable, bring back memories like the 79 championship game between the two schools.Boomer Sooner.

Roll Tide, hopefully the Tide can make a decent run at a Bowl. I doubt, unless there is a major fall out of the undefeated that they will go for the title. But a solid win will do. Roll Tide Roll..

The Tide will roll the next two weeks and will be big USC fans the next three weeks. All the Trojans need to do is...

  1. Beat UCLA this week to clinch the Pac-12 South
  2. Beat ND at home in two weeks
  3. Find a way to outscore Oregon in the Pac-12 Championship Game in three weeks

...and all the Bammers will be jumping for joy. Then all the Tide have to do is beat a very capable Georgia team the next night in Atlanta and they're back on their way to the BCSCG.

Easy enough, right?
