The next big date is apparently Nov 30 :)

What I liked about the announcement is that you can preorder your 27" online on the same day you can physically buy a 21".

That would be great. I can't see Apple announcing the 27" model any later than december 17th.

Wonder can you buy in the UK at midnight on Thursday?

Surely 9-00am PST is 5-00pm GMT? I am new to this Apple malarkey and like hordes of others am waiting to get my hands on a new iMac, but from what I understand Apple release a new model simultaneously worldwide?

If that is the case late Friday would be the soonest here.

Well at least they've removed the need for a second round of uncertainty and rumours waiting for the 27". That was quite helpful of them.

We just have to wait until Friday to see what the delivery dates for upgraded models look like. I'd have liked one in time for Xmas, however suspect I might be being a little optimistic.

Ah cool. Didn't know it was happening 9am Friday.

Will be on my computer at 5pm uk time hahaha.

Getting the top 27 with extra graphics. My thinking is because it the most expensive, the less people will buy it so the more there'll be haha. Though I know that's just to make myself feel better :D

I havent read any reports That the 27" model will be released on Friday. Can anyone confirm this? I thought it was only the 21" models.

Only the 21" will be released Friday. The 27" will be available for preorder, but could be on a long lead time. Not to bothered as I will be going for top end 21" with 16GB of RAM and Fusion Drive. However as this is a non standard model, I'm not sure when it will be available. At least I can order Friday.

Just woke up to the great news. It doesn't bother me that we didn't get it today. The fact that we actually got an official news announcement posted from the Apple site with an actual date satisfies me.

Because of this targeted date, I think this time around we'll actually see the store go down prior to 12am Thursday night and see it come back up 12am or shortly after, much like an iOS launch.

Just 3 more days. :)

wait a minute

So on the 30th we will be allowed to preorder the 27" customized say with a fusion drive etc? This is news to me did Apple announce this?

I thought just the 21" will go live then.

Last I check it was only the 21" model

It is time to lock this thread and send it as is to apple to see what not to do next time.
Thanks.

Take a look at some early tear-downs from Japan

Viewing these in iOS, so can't tell. But can anyone know if we get any hints from these pictures on user inter-changeability of RAM?

Take a look at this picture specifically. http://www.kodawarisan.com/k2012_02/images/113022.png

That slightly offset area in the bottom right is the RAM. Looks standard to me.
Definitely socketed, not soldered.

Next big date is Dec 5 - Dec 7, 2012, when my new 2012 iMac is expected to arrive. :D

And to all the 'No 2012 iMac' guys... in your face! :D
