My 2012 Mac Mini is not communicating with my monitor. The monitor works fine when connected to my Chromebook.

Any insights?

I bought it in February. I'm using the HDMI input on the monitor. No problems for six months. Then I got no video. Tried a different monitor and a different cable, both of which work fine on my Windows PC. Took it to the store where I bought it, hooked it up to a new monitor and it was fine. Bought the new monitor. After a week, same thing; no video. Hooked my Chromebook to the monitor, no problem. Mac Mini- no video.

Strange, indeed. I did a quick search and found these threads, which may be of help. The only other suggestion would be to go back to where you bought it and see what they have to say.

Disclaimer: I did not read through any of these links/threads, so they may not be the same issue as you're seeing.

Is the no video problem permanent or only temporary? There were problems with the initial batch of 2012 Minis that caused blackouts, but those were fixed. Did you buy your Mini new, used, or certified refurbished?
