Yes....this seems very suspect.

Maybe I'm just old fashioned - but if you're a real Yankees fan, there is no scenario where you will root for the Red Sox. None.

Especially over a legend!!

I'm glad to see you are posting :D.

I have to disagree. Even though I hate the Yankees, I would be hoping they would win if they were in the World Series. Any AL team in the World Series gets my support.

Red Sox in 5
Cardinals in 7

I've been a busy bee!!

You may be the only Red Sox fan I've known who has ever said that.

The Queen has to be the tie-breaker. I can't imagine her rooting for the Yanks in the World Series. I certainly wouldn't expect her to. I've never been a AL only fan, though. I've pretty much always rooted against the AL in the WS - because it means either the team playing just beat the Yanks or I'm jealous because the Yanks aren't in it! :D

I also think it's some kind of double jinx if Sox fans are rooting for the Yanks. The universe gets all screwed up and bad things happen. ;)

I used to have a shirt when I was a kid - My 2 favorite teams are the Yankees and whoever is playing the Red Sox!

We aren't all like that. I'd root for an asteroid to annihilate the planet before I root for the Yankees. :D;)

Big first win by the Tigers. Loved the whining about the strike zone from the BoSox and their fans. Sanchez and Co. were dealing it for over 8 hit-less innings.

Still just one game, however. Tigers left way too many runners on base if they want to win this series.

I hope those beards have ticks in them.

No, there's no way on earth I'm rooting for the Yankees in any scenario. And I mean ANY scenario. That said, I don't necessary feel that intense need to be so invested in them losing anymore. Like, if the Sox aren't directly playing them, I'm not going to invest much energy in getting pissed or upset or even joyous if they win/lose. I'll probably be like "damn" and that's about it.

I know that's not true for most people, but it is for me. My bitterness is very low these days. It's nice and much healthier for me. :)

LOL. Unlike some people. Must have been a crap sports day for you, eh?

I don't know what is worse. Boston teams winning or their obnoxious fans after a win. Not you of course. :)

They better start losing or I will have a horrible holiday season with the family.

How long did you spend trying to find something to post to be superior about?

I don't care if it was a Tigers fan who did it. You don't rip a ball out of a woman's hand. Just like you wouldn't do that to a kid.

how so?

i'd want to keep the ball myself but i think it is kinda kool that home fans throw back an away team homer.

It's not that it was thrown back, but that fan ripped the ball out of the woman's hand.

I wasn't trying to say all Red Sox fans are classless, etc. It wasn't a dig at Red Sox fans. That one fan was classless and a scumbag. It could have been a Yankees fan and I would still be here complaining about it. There are certain things you don't do at baseball games. And forcibly taking a baseball from a kid/woman is a big no no.

I agree.

I also may be biased but I think the Red Sox have nicer fans then many of the other teams (There always are exceptions especially if they are drinking). What would happen if you wore a Red Sox cap and shirt to Yankee stadium :D ?

I think you would be fine as long as you stay away from the bleachers( especially the bleacher creatures). It always seems like whenever there is obnoxious heckling of Red Sox fans at YS, it's always in the bleachers.

Either way, it would be a lot safer than wearing Giants uniform at Dodgers Stadium or a Dodgers uniform at AT&T Park. ;)

Are you related to Boston fans? That's kind of funny. My grandfather is a Giants fan, and Christmas has been eventful the last few years. :)

Fair enough but I don't understand... if it's not a dig at Red Sox fans, why even bring it up?

We all know that every city and every sporting event has it's share of moron fans. Why give them the attention?

As far as that dude, apparently the woman he took the ball from was his girlfriend, and he got kicked out for it.

Most of my family are Red Sox fans. Football it gets weird. The breakdown is a mix of Giants Jets and Pats. The fun of living in CT.

Fun... I remember going to work on the Monday following each of the two Super Bowl losses to the Giants. I suppose in most areas everyone would be feeling pretty low after the 'local' team lost the Super Bowl. Not in Connecticut. I had to endure the euphoria of Giants fans :D

I went through that once when my SF Giants got swept by the Oakland A's (my second favorite team). I was very happy for Oakland but not at the expense of the spanking they put onto San Francisco. The Giants had a really celebrated lineup of high profile hitters who were already celebrities throughout the Bay Area but Oakland had pitching. Their hitting wasn't at all bad either as careers would turn out better for them long term but it was a shock to lose so badly to Oakland.

The earthquake that hit the area pretty much took most of the attention away from the series and any "hating" Oakland was not kosher since the Loma Prieta earthquake killed the most people in that city. They were rejoicing for the first WS win since the mid-70s but also mourning the deaths from one of the collapsed entries to the Bay Bridge span. I can't think of a time where the WS was pretty much a non-subject just days after it was over.

I hope Oakland can tie on another WS victory someday and I thought this year was definitely a possibility. Their 20 game winning streak some years ago was probably harder to achieve by the sheer odds against it than winning any seven game series. When Oakland wins another WS, and it's never a matter of if but when, I just hope it's not against the Giants.

Being that the Giants and A's both have amazing skippers, there's always the chance the two teams will meet again in the big series. Anyway, I hope not.
