How on earth did you become a Cowboys fan being in New England, Lebron? :p

It seems like most of the games on TV when I was growing up (a long time ago :D), featured the Dallas Cowboys. Also, I never liked the Patriots since, I feel like everyone in the local media starts ignoring the Red Sox when the Patriots play (i.e. I probably would like the Patriots more if the seasons didn't overlap).

dodgers will win today if they dont its done.

Each game is pretty much a separate entity and should be played that way. It's the only way I saw my Giants through last year. The Dodgers are "supposed" to beat the Cardinals by what a lot of people post on the net and what I am hearing people say on the street but unless they take each inning seriously, they will get surprised. Now they find themselves down 2-1. Even if the Cardinals win and it's 3-1, it's far from over. The Dodgers second or third best pitchers are better than most teams' top pitcher. It will be interesting to see if LA can tie it up. If that happens then most people will assume it's LA again but it's not over until a team gets four wins.

On the AL side, the Red Sox showed that it's never hopeless. There are very few teams you want to be down 5-1 in a game more than Detroit but you can still beat them.

I think coming into this championship series most felt it could be a foregone conclusion of LA-Detroit WS. Any one of the four teams going all the way is not a stretch at all and it's likely to be very close games until the final team holds up the trophy. My money is still on LA and tonight is at home for them.

Update: If this is red sox v cardinals I want this to go to 7. I think Koji has earned the right to be the last guy holding the ball in what I hope will be a close 7th game. Other than what we saw up to this point, I hope hitters start doing something more to make it higher scoring all around.

Agreed. Glad to see the Cardinals win and advance to the World Series.

They deserved it and took out the NL's best rotation. I was hoping for a west coast representation in the mix but it wasn't to be. Either Detroit or Boston will prove to be a good match for St. Louis.

I don't know who the AL team is likely to be but my guess is that Boston has to wrap it up early in game 6 or it's a no go. With Detroit bringing in what MLB says are the two best pitchers in the game, a 7 game series favors Detroit...
http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article/mlb...md=20131018&content_id=63107728&vkey=news_mlb A 6 game series has the favor for Boston coming off a win and coming back home. That being said I think Boston will win and convincingly in game 6 (6-2 or so) and come up to a close WS against the Cardinals.

If Detroit gets hot and wins, then they will take the WS in no more than five. They play a big game and when on they are the best. They get really hot at times but can hit slumps (as they did in 2012 WS). Detroit has to peak right now and blow away the Red Sox if they are to prime up to the Cardinals.

Both Boston and the Cardinals rely on a more steady team that chips away at a game and relies on everybody, not just a few big hitters or pitchers. This is the type of team I like but what some non-baseball fans consider boring.

blah blah blah scherzer verlander blah blah

All we keep hearing about is those two guys and how great they are.

Nobody wants to give any credit to Lester or Buchholz. Let's not forget Buchholz was the best pitcher in the league for the first 2 months of the season until he "slept wrong". But as long as he slept the right way, he's just as good as Scherzer. ;)

I loved seeing everybody poo poo the Giants in 2012 WS bringing in over the hill Barry Zito to go against the great Verlander. It helped to get out ahead big, especially with "the Panda" home runs.

I hope Boston does this (I will go to MLB site next as I just got home but somebody told me it's second inning 0-0) and hits a home run(s) and few good runs of singles to get out early in first four innings. A good padding against the pitching pair left from Detroit would be at least three points.

It's not the type of game, against those two, where you can rely on doing anything in the 5th inning or later. Detroit is one of those cockroach teams (over time with many games under them with same people) so you especially have to knock them down early. Don't try and do small ball against those pitchers. If Detroit wins, they are clearly in the driver's seat. Take advantage of Detroit's Fielder not being the regular big hitter Fielder. Basically, kill the Tigers now and kill them early! (now onto MLB site) :).

Your pitchers are good, a lot like SF boys, and you can win. What Detroit has, and the hype is well deserved, are two hitmen on the mound. Their Ks and ERA ain't bad and if I had to have any two guys with 1-2 punch it would be those two. There are lots of teams with pitchers almost as good as them as the guys you mentioned on Boston, Cain and Bumgarner from my team, and many others. I like your closer Koji and he may very well be the last guy to throw the ball this year.

As for your pitcher who slept wrong, did he do so in the same way as A-Rod (supposedly with Madonna)? :)

UPDATE: see ya soon Stl!!

A Boston sports team is back in a championship for the first time in 116 days. ;)
