If Nico did that on purpose...

We'll see what happens, the team can even things up tomorrow!

:^)

Well that didn't happen! Lewis looked really upset at the end. I think he will either win the next race and be back on top, or his head will go down and he will be playing second fiddle to Nico.
Either way it's going to bd a long fun season!

They (media) were awful fast to speculate that he did it on purpose... and I sure hope he didn't... by doing so it says a lot about his sportsmanship....

and I give you the seesawing he was doing on the wheel does look odd, but who knows....

There was no way he was going to win from second, and he knew that. I think it was pretty convienant.

As soon as I saw it I thought he did it on purpose (a la Schumacher), but he kept on locking up in that corner during the race, so I think it was just a bad corner for him.

I don't think Nico did it on purpose.

As to the race, the safety car just before planned pit stops ended any hopes Lewis had of winning by passing in the pits. And coming in early would not have helped him as he'd have come out in traffic - he had to have Nico pit first so he had clear track to put in some fastest laps to build up enough of a cushion.

Awesome work by Jules Bianchi to score points for Marussia. This pretty much puts the nail in Caterham and they're already up for sale.

So Nico on top again in qualifying. Of course it's much less significant in Canada than it is in Monaco. Plenty of time for overtaking etc.
rest of the chasing pack seem pretty close (to each other, not the Mercs) so hopefully lots happening down the field.
Bring it on!

Wow. What a race. That one had everything. Crashes, overtaking the lot. I can only assume the heat took its toil, as there were so many dnf.
Good to see someone other than the Mercs win. Also good to see Riccardo out perform Vettel again.
Massa had a touch of the kamikaze about him at the end. Is it just me or is there a certain irony in him being in front of both Ferraris (the team that decided he wasn't good enough as their number two driver and gave him the boot) before that rush of blood to the head.
If you are in to F1 and didn't see the race, try and make sure you do. It was a good one.

Really happy to see Daniel pull out the victory. For a second, I almost thought that Perez was gonna win, but that was probably just me wanting a second tier team to win. Overall, a great race.

Yes I would have liked to see Perez and Massa on the podium. Nico was the big winner again today though. With Hamilton not finishing, he is gonna be on top for the next few races unless he gets a DNF even if he loses to Hamilton.

Amazing bad luck for Hamilton. He had the same "problem" the last couple of years dueling with Vettel: if a car was going to fail, it was always his and not his competitor's.

It looked to me like Massa didn't notice the car ahead of him drifting to the left.

He has a minimum three-race buffer on Hamilton barring DNFs.

Can a monocoque that heavily damaged even be repaired? I wonder how much an F1 team budgets for total car loss.

I've seen some pretty hairy crashes in sports car racing where the tub could still be reused and rebuilt. As long as it's not cracked all the bodywork and mechanicals around it can be replaced.

Vettel must have been counting his lucky stars he didnt get hit by those two

Yes, but he must be super pissed that he is playing second fiddle to his team mate. :)

As for Massa, I hope he is okay mentally. It took a long time for him to bounce back after his last (more serious) accident. I'd love to see Williams getting some podiums.

Raised an eyebrow here and there but it wasn't... too bad.

Sounds like his "ideal" driver would be someone that attracts a lot of attention. But notice after he said that, he spoke pragmatically about getting one driver that knew F1 very well, and one American driver.

I don't think he was very wrong when he said that buying the power unit meant that they only had to build "the front half of the car."

Does anyone know where Peter Windsor went off-track, so to speak?

Obviously he doesn't care about winning. Just the fanfare that comes with her.

I am so over Danica. She had some good promise a few years ago, but she is riding on a her pretty face and not her skill.

Plus last thing I want to see is her hot head go off in the paddock wanting to fight like she has done several times in IRL and Nascar. F1 is more refined and dignified then she can be.

Anyone think they'll have as much luck as the last US based team that tried to get started (what was it, USF1?)
