I hate week 1 for fantasy purposes. You really don't know who's real and who's not. You have your obvious players that you start (AP, Rodgers, Antonio Brown, etc) but for everyone else, it's a crapshoot because you don't know if the opponents defense is any good. Very frustrating right now.

Just a very ****** week for fantasy. Then you have those who got lucky and got Spencer Ware who plays like he's an all-pro. Complete piss off. It's only week 1 but very frustrating to get an outcome that is totally unexpected.

Lol I'm one of those. Picked him up off waivers too when I saw that Jamal was inactive for the first few weeks, so he wasn't even drafted in my league.

Oh, Kennan Allen, poor guy. The early reports are that it's likely an ACL tear. I drafted him in multiple fantasy leagues... :(

Not going to lie, Garoppolo looked like Brady in the pocket on some of the plays - the way he commanded the offense and his demeanor. We have 3 more games with him at QB, Patriots might have found Brady's successor.

Wasn't that always the plan. Now you just have to tell Brady to retire.

For sure but I didn't think it would happen so soon. That's how impressive he looked, at least to me. If I didn't know Brady was suspended and I just turned on the game, I could honestly mistaken Garoppolo for Brady at certain points of the game. If he pans out the next 3 weeks, lets just hope he doesn't pull an Osewiler. This is a situation where he knows this is his team if he can wait it out for at least two more years (that's a long time being a backup). Fortunately for Garoppolo, he has the leverage over the Patriots. We know they don't like spending much on players but this is a unique situation where Brady is at the tail-end of his career and if they found his successor, you might have to pay him more than your average back-up QB.

Brady has no intention of retiring, sounds like Jimmy G might be trade bait if he plays well. So what happens if Brady comes back and stinks up the joint. Is it still his team or would they give Garoppolo the starting job moving forward?

Given Brady's relationship with Belichick and Robert Kraft, I highly doubt that they would bench Brady if he stunk it up. Brady would be given this year to play but they would have to re-evaluate the situation.

Franchise QB's are hard to find regardless of team so if Garoppolo is the guy, I don't think the Patriots would be that cocky and arrogant to use him as bait (but I wouldn't put it past them). It's really hard to speculate because it's Brady and his resume speaks itself. But there has to be a point where you have to move on unless the Patriots are comfortable trying draft another QB and that player becomes the true successor to Brady. We'll get a better picture in the next 3 weeks where we'll see if Garoppolo is the real deal or not.

The young man played reasonable well.

Larry Fitzgerald was awesome last night. I hope he has a great final year since he has announced his retirement.

I thought he said he was playing out his contract which goes through next year. Did I miss something?

Yeah, I don't believe rumours until the person in question comes out and says they're doing it and holds a press conference. Fitz' time in the NFL is slowly approaching its end but no way he leaves if the Cardinals are in contention for a Super Bowl. Only way I see him retiring after this season is if the Cardinals **** the bed and don't make the playoffs but.
