Wow. Vikings traded for Bradford for a 1st round pick in 2017 and 4th round pick in 2018. For the Eagles, I guess the gamble on signing Bradford to that extension paid off because they essentially got that back and then some with a 1st rounder next year.

I think the Vikings overpaid, but they were in a desperate situation.

The Bradford trade is interesting. We all know he has great potential, so what if this year turns out to be really good and he finally performs like most people expected? What do they do next year when Bridgewater has recovered?

Will Bridgewater be ready in a year?

I went to bed, and thought that Panthers were going to win the came, but lo and behold, they lost.

I'm not really a fan of either team, so it didn't matter to me who won.

The Broncos were lucky to win this game. 3 turnovers, lots of penalties. The Panthers let this one slip away.

I agree, sometimes it is the luck of the gods that get you through to the win.

I agree that the Panthers let is "slip away", but I'm not sure luck had much to do with it except for Gano's final second FG miss. I think you have to credit the Bronco defense with shutting down the Panthers offense in the second half. 17 points scored in the first vs. 3 points scored in the second is a pretty big difference.

It was a great game to start the season. I really thought Gano was going to hit that kick. I feel bad for him, but I'm glad to see the Broncos get the win. I'm not a Cam fan.

It was a great game and as much as I dislike the Broncos I am very pleased they won for obvious reasons .
:D

GO HAWKS !

Yep, although it did hit the right upright and bounce through. Apparently, he overcorrected a bit too much.

I'm usually against icing the kicker because you basically give the kicker a free practice kick which he could use to make adjustments. But in this case it worked great for Kubiak because like you said Gano overcorrected too much.

Yeah more often then not, it works against the coach trying to ice the kicker. I've seen too many time outs called where if it wasn't called the kicker missed and the game would be over. This is one of the rare times it worked

I was very impressed with Trevor Siemian in his first game as an NFL starter. Bounced back from those turnovers in the first half, made some great throws and didn't let the occasion get to him. Certainly didn't feel like the Broncos were missing Osweiler.

It was a treat to have Peyton Manning up in the commentary box with Al and Cris. His explanation on what lead to the Siemian interception when he underthrew after getting hit as he threw was brilliant - I learnt more from those 30 seconds than I did in an entire season listening to Jim Nantz and Phil Simms. And it was very funny that Al asked him what his favourite city in Nebraska was :D

he he he. yeah. peyton to the booth anytime soon?

nantz and simms are the worst.

Peyton stumbled a bit in the booth when they asked him to analyze a replay. With practice, he'd be good at it though. The knowledge is obviously there, and the talent is evident from his many commercials.
