Was advised by Apple Chat that it will only be marked as shipped when shipped from the local warehouse (Inside your country) so seems like orders been charged have probably began the shipping process from China to the country of order

So it could be inside the country already?

Still waiting to be charged for my base 13" model with Touch Bar (not BTO). Original estimate for delivery was Nov 21 - Nov 25. Located in Canada. Ordered within minutes of store going back online.

Ordered this maybe 15 minutes after the keynote, have not been charged (other than the $1 auth charge when I ordered) and this is still "processing".

13" BTO
2.9GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor
16GB 2133MHz memory
512GB PCIe-based SSD
Intel Iris Graphics 550

Just got the mobile alert from Amex, charged for the full amount.

Don't ask why I'm up at 3am, midterms suck.

Anyone here that used the Barclay credit? I'm curious if I apply and approved, do I get some sort or account number or do I have to purchase something right away? I wanted to apply, then call Apple and change my payment method to the Barclay but I dont know if I can do that

You buy something THEN apply for credit. At least in the U.K.

I don't think any stock models have been charged--so you are not alone!

I'm in the 2-3 week bracket too with delivery dates of 17 to 24th for the 15". Still haven't been charged, maybe because I ordered using my debit card? Has anyone been charged ordering by debit?

I think what Apple Chat said is BS. When it's shipped, I assume you will be given a tracking number which you can use to actually trace the package as it leaves China, so it can't be in your local country already.

Either way, status has to move to "Preparing for shipping" before "Shipped".

So credit charged doesn't mean much in the whole shipping process.

That's. It necessarily true, with the iPhone 7 launch, many people's phones completely skipped the preparing for shipment stage and just went straight to shipped!

I think that those of us who have had our cards charged have a good chance of seeing our new macs by this weekend! :)

Ok I didn't get charged and ordered minutes after the key note. What the f :(
Is yours BTO? Or Stock?

It looks like it's the BTO models that are being charged now.

I wouldn't be worried about it, I'm sure they are going through all the orders (in the initial delivery window) over the next few days and will ship them all out together by the end of this week.

Still no charge.

13"/TB/3.3/16/256. 17-24th. Confirmation email @ 11:33AM PST. :(

I remember you from the UK iPhone shipping thread.....we're doing the typical British thing and enjoying multiple queues! :D

Didn't order mine until the day after, Base 15" but with US keyboard layout. Estimated Delivery between 25th Nov and 2nd December.

Storage is not a massive issue for me, although my current MBP (Mid 2010) has 2 drives in, the boot drive is an 128GB SSD where the OS and Apps reside and I still have 50 gig left on it! The other drive is a mechanical drive where I store data (movies/music etc), but I have a synology now so I don't need a lot of onboard storage these days.

My biggest data hog is some parallels VMs which I very occasionally use for work, that it currently consuming 600 gigabytes and I rarely use it because I RDP into my machine in the office. I've installed Windows (10) To Go on an external drive ready for when the next machine turns up, so when I need to use windows on my machine I'll just boot directly into that and get full native speed.

Figured for me that Applecare was a better option as if the storage turns out not to be swappable on the touch versions then a soldered in SSD would make me nervous (weep) about the potential future costs of a SSD failure.... (I have a MBA at work which I had to replace the SSD in as it went kaput)

Chat rep. said exactly what it says on the Apple website http://www.apple.com/shop/help/shipping_delivery under header "What's next".

I'm pretty sure that a charged CC is a good sign.

Most likely the BTO models will be shipped direct from the assembly factory while the stock models are likely to ship from local distribution centers in each country.

I don't know if it's possible in the US, but being in the U.K., I've never been able to track Apple orders from China (I'm going on my bad memory here so I could but wrong, but I'm pretty sure..).
Typically here we only get shipment info with tracking numbers when it's in the hands of the couriers and the item is working it's way through the couriers system. I don't expect to see any movement on my order status until such time. I could be wrong however.
