I don't know if it's possible in the US, but being in the U.K., I've never been able to track Apple orders from China (I'm going on my bad memory here so I could but wrong, but I'm pretty sure..).
Typically here we only get shipment info with tracking numbers when it's in the hands of the couriers and the item is working it's way through the couriers system. I don't expect to see any movement on my order status until such time. I could be wrong however.

I'm in Ireland and for new products can also track packages directly from china (Apple Watch Series 2). If the product has been out for awhile it's different (iPhone 6s purchased a few months ago, Bests Solo 3 purchased approximately three weeks after release) but for the MacBook Pros I would think we will be able to track it directly from China.

Hadn't taken 'products out for a while' into account in my post. Do you normally get tracking with an international freight service then, with regards to new products coming from China?

And I'm here reading all this with a 4-5 week estimate (Decemeber 8). Can't wait !
What I do like about this thread is that it seems to be the only place on the internet where people are actualy excited about the new hardware !

My old MBP is early 2011. It's pretty much sluggish to even open up Word but only now after 5 years have I hit issues. It's lasted me well so I'm stoked for an update! My window is 24-1st Dec so hopefully in a fortnight I'll have it! Here's hoping!

For newly-released products that are back-ordered a bit, for example iPhones, Macs, and the like, they are always shipped directly from China to the customer.

It is always possible to track it straight from the factory if you try hard enough. Sometimes the tracking number Apple gives you will only display the last leg of the journey, but using shipper's references and things you can trace the parcel back to China and see where it is. And when these start shipping I'm sure people will be doing just that!

When supply improves items are stocked and despatched locally in the country. In the UK, that is at the Syncreon warehouse in Hinckley (quite near to you and I!). :)

Anybody have experience of getting delivered to store pickups faster than their "Available" date? I got charged this morning, but only available until Nov 25 despite ordering immediately. By picking up in store (my only realistic option), my time frame went from Nov 17-22 to Nov 25. Anybody have experience?

Ok so I ordered literally within 5 minutes of the store coming back up after the keynote. 15" BTO, i7/16GB/512GB/460. Still not charged. What the hell? How are people who ordered 5 hours later than me getting their orders charged first???

Hi, all. First post, but I've been lurking through all almost 100 pages of this thread.

Truly jealous of everyone in this first batch. Schedule conflicts kept me from ordering until about 7 hours after the keynote :( but alas, I will live vicariously through you all until early December

I'm in the same boat. All-day client meeting kept me out of the loop so I couldn't order until 7 PM PDT. My est. delivery dates are 12/5 - 12/9. Based on the activity on here, I'm hoping we see them before Thanksgiving.

Both my Apple Watch S2 and iPhone 7 Plus got tracking numbers before they even left China, and I tracked them from China all the way here. Macs may be different though.

Sorry if already posted – any idea what time you got your order in? Same configuration here, but still no charge. Got my confirmation in at 2:26PM EST 10/27. Thanks.

I got mine in about 20 minutes after the keynote ended.

Yeah, that makes sense. If the order is being built from China, then shipping notification will be sent when the package leaves the factory in China. But if the order is in stock in your local country, then obvisouly, 'shipped' mean leaving your local Apple warehouse.

Ahh I see! I sometimes pass Synchreon on my drive to work in Rugby if the M6 is a no-go.
I had noticed previous orders have come from there over the last so many years :) not sure what I want to try to track from China at the moment as refreshing the app is bad enough for me at the minute :(

I know it sucks that some of you haven't been charged yet, but no ones been shipped yet either. For all we know they're waiting to charge everyone in that 1st batch before shipping anything.
