Just got my tracking info for my USB C charger and it with ONTRAC... odd, they hardly ever use them...
I am horrified to hear that Apple might use onTrac for anything. Amazon uses them a lot, and of my last 4 shipments, 4 of them weren't delivered on time. Had to complain online, and then they had to get the delivery guys back out with a map to our place. But we're very rural, and the onTrac service is known to be very poor in our area. They just 'lost' a monitor arm that they said was undeliverable. Grrrrrr.

As equally unnecessary as all the "hey i'm preparing for shipment" and "when will it ship" posts. At this point this thread has become mostly a pastime until we get satisfaction. If anything it lets folks blow off some steam while we impatiently wait. No lives are on the line here, after all

And intentionally deceiving each other is the way you want to go with this thread?

Temporary authorization on my credit card has disappeared (put on in the morning of 11/7. I imagine it'll be put back on next Monday, assuming thats when it ships.

Hello , I was charged in France for 13" bto (16 go ram and 512 ssd), but I've a doubt : should I have take dual i7 instead of the i5 ? Someone have an idea about the benefit of the i7 over the i5 ?

Rohh tout le monde est débité avant moi

For the rest, I don't know. I think there's much more differences between 2 cores (13") and 4 cores (15") than between I5 and I7, but I'm not sure.

Credit card failed, bank says no issues on their end. And here I though Apple Pay would be flawless. Apple bank has worked fine all day, so it's apples end that is failing....phone call tomorrow

Does Apple ship these from Shanghai to Anchorage? If so, the UPS flight leaves Shanghai at 9:33PM each day, going to Anchorage and then onto Louisville arriving at 1:04AM (+1).

And there isn't a Sat or Sun flight so next one is the 14th over there.

Basically the next flight arrives in Louisville on the 15th at 1:04AM. So no one will get them till 15 or 16.

I posted earlier but this is my BTO from late 2008 shipping history.

That's some hardcore investigating.

Checking back there are sometimes weekend flights. There were none last weekend but there was a flight on the 30th (Sun).

I would not be surprised if AAPL has a custom UPS logistics solution for these. There is definitely enough pallets to fill a few 747-400 freighters and they likely coördinate with UPS logistics to do expedited customs clearing and having a full plane of just their stuff makes that MUCH easier.

So it is quite likely that some or all of these wouldn't be on a regularly scheduled UPS flight.

Yeah, OnTrac is awful. It's really popular here in Seattle (local Amazon shipping partner). Every time I do a rush ship, it's OnTrac and it always gets delivered to the front office of my apt complex, dropped right in front of the door, where anyone can steal it. I've seen the delivery guys, and it looks like they use their own cars for delivery.. probably like an Uber or Lyft of shipping.

On another note, I saw that Holiday return period started for anything bought from Nov 10th onwards. Giving one to Jan 8th to return. Will our MacBooks fall under that policy because they haven't shipped yet?

My plan has been all along to benchmark this machine against my current 2012 rMBP. If this thing isn't worth $4400CDN over my current one then it is going back ASAP. I assumed I'd have 2 weeks to run it through some tests. But now wondering if I will have till Jan to make up my mind.

I'm in socal and never had an issue. I even prefer them because they deliver early.

Yes, it will apply. It's written so that anything received after November 10th (through 12/25) is eligible.
