I chatted them up to confirm same-day didn't mess anything up. It looks good and they confirmed that PFS->Shipping is usually a week, if that means anything. Also, since when did reps disclose so much personal stuff? I like it but I almost forgot what I was calling about. It's pleasant, but very surprising.

I'm in socal and never had an issue. I even prefer them because they deliver early.

I prefer OnTrac in the Bay Area also, they always deliver first thing in the morning vs UPS and FedEx usually delivering near the end of their shifts.

I've never heard of P4S to S being a week. My experience has usually been 24-48hrs...no longer.

I agree, I've been ordering and preordering from Apple for years and have never had one take much more than 48 hours to go from PFS to S. Since it is Friday here and Saturday in China, I think we will all be Shipped by Sunday.

I ended up screwing myself. Ordered a few hours after the reveal, but I forgot to do it via an EPP. A few days later I also changed my mind from a 15" to a 13", so I canceled the 15" and ordered the 13". Then 10 days later started thinking I should have stuck with the 15". I didn't realize there was a 14 day return period or I would have done this differently.

Net result is I went from the first delivery window to dec 7-14 for the 13" and dec 23 for the 15".

Sigh

Yeah, probably just a YMMV thing
Yup. Some people have horrible ups or fedex, and both ours are great. I wish there were ways you could flag an account as 'never ever use this shipping company', but that plays havoc with logistic software.

Just found out the exam software my school uses just updated comparability with Sierra. Now I don't have to buy Windows 10 and use Bootcamp. This MacBook can't ship fast enough!

You are not alone. We stand strong!

Got a shipping notification, got excited...turns out it's the LG 4K that was supposed to come in December, and I was on the verge of cancelling it anyway...oops. Well, this way I can test it out, I guess.

I did the opposite: ordered the 13 originally, but decided to switch to the 15 earlier this week. Now, my window extends to December 29.

And intentionally deceiving each other is the way you want to go with this thread?

If you can't read, I can't help you.

If you're purposefully joyless, arrogant, easily annoyed, easily offended, and generally unpleasant then you've probably found the perfect place to spend your time (internet forums)

Either way, lighten up babe

On another note, I saw that Holiday return period started for anything bought from Nov 10th onwards. Giving one to Jan 8th to return. Will our MacBooks fall under that policy because they haven't shipped yet?

My plan has been all along to benchmark this machine against my current 2012 rMBP. If this thing isn't worth $4400CDN over my current one then it is going back ASAP. I assumed I'd have 2 weeks to run it through some tests. But now wondering if I will have till Jan to make up my mind.

Had I known about the holiday return period, I would have waited until the 10th to buy all my dongles in case I didn't need them. Still, it looks like I'll get my 13" MBP before the return window on my dongle purchases closes.

I do not know what's worse hearing the same criticism geared at the new MacBook Pro like "its not a pro machine", "omg dongles" etc. Or the agony of waiting for my BYO to arrive at my doorstep. I only hope that when the reviews start rolling in there is some optimism for this elegant device.
