I'm guessing that us Australians won't get a shipped notification until tomorrow. My guess is that they're being shipped from China over the weekend and will arrive in the Australian distribution centres. As we don't get deliveries from UPS, I'm guessing we'll get a StarTrack shipment on Monday for a Tuesday delivery. Fingers Crossed!!

Going to use gigabit Ethernet to move my files. Not worth paying for a thunderbolt to USB-c adapter just to speed up my transfer.

Funny. I never once used the thunderbolt port on my 2012 MacBook Pro. I'll use it once; to transfer files.

I plan to get a Thunderbolt 2 RAID setup (which is far cheaper than TB3 now), so I'll need an adapter to make it work. The same cable and adapter I'll need for that will work to plug in my 2012 to transfer files.

That's more complicated than my ex girlfriend. Just let iCloud do it for you.

That'll transfer personal files; slowly, through the internet. But not applications, preferences, settings, etc.

With migration assistant, you'll be right where you left off and be there quickly.

Glad to see people having their orders ship today, but it's leaving me a bit confused. My wife and I placed our order within about 20 minutes of the store coming back up after the keynote was over (base 15" with the only upgrade being the video card to the 460...one for each of us 2-3 week shipping Nov. 17-25 delivery).

Our card was charged on Monday and our order was moved to Preparing for Shipping on Thursday around the same time as everyone else. I'm seeing a lot of people that are saying that their order has shipped while our order is still sitting at PFS for well over 48 hours now.

This is the longest I've ever had an Apple order sit stuck in PFS. Hell, we're also seeing people with 4-5 week shipping range being shipped already. I wonder what is Apple's logic in the order they process orders....some of this just isn't making any sense.

I ordered about the same time as you. Had card charge on Wed and P4S on Thur. Since then nothing....likely will be on the Monday UPS81 plane. Apple can't get all the space on these planes so only so many can go on each flight. Except that UPS85 flight that only flies occasionally that flew today...maybe an all Apple special? Or maybe not? If we do get on UPS81 on Monday it will arrive at 1AM Tuesday morning into Kentucky so still could have delivery for those in the US on Tuesday.

I'm really curious about this too still on P2S 15'' BTO Shipping to Montreal !
I think they won't ship till Monday's flight. I saw the earliest delivery estimate for Canadian BTO was 21st so Apple has loads of time to still meet that deadline. I had another Apple shipment last week and it went from Kentucky to Edmonton in one day, then onto a truck to me in Whitehorse. But for you in Montreal you could still get it Tues or Wed next week if it flies on the Monday evening UPS flight out of Shanghai. Fingers crossed!!

I completely understand that. I prefer not to move applications that are downloaded outside of the Apple App Store. Many applications spread throughout the macOS, you may unknowingly move an application to the new machine and mistaking leave behind a valuable part of that application. I also prefer to tailor factory settings from the preferences. Different strokes for different folks.

Oh, and all of the data I own is less than 5 GB, won't take long compared to others here.

Just switched to PFS! I was beginning to despair of it ever happening after being charged last Monday. Deets in signature. :)

ETA: my pending charge dropped off my account yesterday and hasn't reappeared yet, despite PFS. Hopefully that reassures some others who have had their charge disappear.

So did people get on UPS81 out of Osaka today? If so congrats. I'm still P4S since Thurs. Hoping mine will be on UPS81 out of Shanghai on Monday.

And I just read about UPS85. That might be special just for Apple as it rarely flies?? Or maybe it just flies once a week.

Have any Canadians with BTO had theirs ship yet?

Quite a few appear to be on 85, also a flight left after that. I am on UPS81, went to Japan and now on the way to Anchorage.

Ok, I think I researched some of the flights going on, I am pretty sure you guys know but I think UPS 80 and UPS 81 are the ones we should look for now for the next wave (Guessing mine will be the next wave). UPS 81 as you know, is the flight which going from Shanghai to Anchorage to Louisville. This time, I think it kinda had a stop at Japan for the japanese customers? because usually it goes from SHA->ANCH->LOUS. Now, UPS 80 is the one which comes back from LOUS->ANCH->SHA. UPS 80 now, is going to the Shanghai from Anchorage, which will arrive 4 hours later. I think that this UPS 80 flight will change the code to UPS 81, and will depart soon after it has arrived. So maybe sometime during the early morning this sunday. So in conclusion, this route between Shanghai and Louisville, there are two airplanes traveling each other using the code UPS 80 and UPS 81. I hope this research may help you guys.

So did any true stock models with absolutely no upgrades to the machine whatsoever get PFS/shipped today?

Anyone think that there might be a bunch of stock models on these planes heading out this weekend?
My stock 13" Touch Bar (8GB/256GB) moved to preparing for shipment last night, and my credit card was charged. No change since then though. I certainly hope to see it shipped out by tomorrow.

Migration assistant takes care of that. I won't be manually copying files over. It does everything and everything is over on the other machine. More/less mirroring the two. It's sort of like restoring a new iPhone from a backup of your old iPhone. When the dust settles it's home sweet home, everything is right where you left it.

The Mac App Store is great. But unfortunately, I have a crummy 6mbps DSL connection (which is all that's available here), so the less I have to re-download, the better.

I ordered the 13" MBP non-toolbar version with 256 SSD in space gray earlier this evening. It will be delivered to the house on the 16th of this month. I also ordered two dongles from the Apple site, so I can connect to the ethernet and my iPhone. I also ordered a G-Force USB 3.0 2TB external drive from the Apple site to use as a TM backup. I will pick up the accessories at the local store.

I may use Migration Assistant. This is the 2nd MacBook I've owned. Currently using a MacBook 7,1 that I purchased before college. Before that I used a family notebook and didn't store any data. I'll see what iCloud does, then decide from there. Everything I own is in iCloud.
