Same here. That was entirely the response I expected from Walt Mossberg.
For those who aren't familiar with him, he's a long-time friend of Steve Jobs and probably one of the most important journalists in the tech industry. He's been critical AND fond of Apple. Famously he thought the iPad was a gimmick, a flop (he didn't write as much, but he did walk up to Steve after the keynote and TELL him as much. Like a good journalist, he was probably looking to provoke Steve into defending what he was sure his readers would be saying). Steve then told him to write his column on the iPad and THEN decide, and he did, and he liked it.
But he's unapologetically for the consumer, has loads of experience and has been reporting on computers since the 8-bit era. I think the price is ultimately what's going to hurt Apple in the reviews (clearly it isn't hurting sales), as it always does when a new model comes out.
Every major refresh, retina, Air, etc., is super expensive and that's what the reviews say. "Well it's nice, but it's pretty expensive and doesn't have X".
The air didn't have enough ports, and an anemic 1.8" iPod hard drive. The original retina dropped FireWire and Ethernet, which some decry'ed then. And it dropped the optical drive, which fewer were upset about but some still were. Likewise, expensive and missing features (which, btw, was the headline from Walt Mossberg for the original Air; which in THIS review he calls the best laptop ever made) will be the rallying cry for this machine until the price comes down and we don't miss those features as much.

I think I remember you posting that your order got PFS on Friday, is that right? That is really interesting! When did your CC get charged?
Also, have you been able to find anything when tracking by reference? Many people have been able to track their shipments long before the status changing.

Same here. It just says "export scan" after sitting in China all weekend long. I'm hoping that now that UPS81 has taken off, it will update to delivery.
I did get an email from UPS telling me I'll have my package tomorrow, but that's automated based on the scheduled delivery date.
I hope we don't get to spend another night in Shanghai. Ugh.
EDIT: Now it shows a departure scan.

FDX 90 leaves today and flies PVG -> MEM as well. FDX 72 does the same later this evening. Lots of possibilities, and that's just assuming it's going to Memphis next.

Yeah. It's been stuck since Friday so I'm not sure it means anything, everyone else in EU will probably go straight from PFS to Shipped at the same time mine does.
I'm not sure how I would track it, where would I check?
Edit: I got charged Friday and it changed to PFS later the same day.
Go to the UPS site and "track by reference" - not number - and type in your web order number that starts with a W. If no results are found, try it again with the last two numbers removed.
Had an export scan at 4PM Shanghai time but no Departure scan and the plane left at 9:39...23min ago....hopefully that will still show up and I am on that plane.

I am too but I paid the 8 bucks to get the earliest delivery window I could, which is 1:45 to 3:45.
I tried to call the distribution center to see if I could just come get it before they load it onto a truck; which they've actually let me do before. But nobody picked up, and it's on the truck now so no-go. The last time I did that, it wasn't a monday delivery, so I was able to call them during their 'normal business hours' (people are there, loading trucks, but nobody is in the office), and ask if they could hold the incoming package and I'd be there in the morning, and they said sure, just come around back. NORMALLY, you can only come after 5PM for a 'hold for pickup' at this distribution center; but they let me do it anyway.

My macbook is in the UPS 81 airplane. Just got the departure scan at 9:01 PM local time, and the plane left around 9:40. Check the UPS tracking page, if it has the departure scan now, your macbook is on the air.
