2016 Macbook Pro, Order/Shipping Thread

Minnesota. I was hopeing it would come on Tuesday but doesn't sound like it.

I think it will come Wednesday, but I was hoping for Tuesday as well. FedEx flight 90 hasn't left from Shanghai yet (leaves in about 1 hour and 20 minutes), maybe we will be on that flight. If so, it will land tonight around 10:20 Central in Memphis. If we are on that flight they can get it pretty much anywhere in the US by tomorrow. But it will probably still arrive Wednesday as scheduled.

My macbook is in the UPS 81 airplane. Just got the departure scan at 9:01 PM local time, and the plane left around 9:40. Check the UPS tracking page, if it has the departure scan now, your macbook is on the air.

Yes, mine is also now posted and 9:01PM also....now I can ignore this plane stuff and wake up Tuesday morning to see how fast it gets to Canada.

Finally! Tracking number received (from UPS My Choice, Apple still says "PfS").
It's coming UPS from Rialto, California and scheduled for Wednesday morning delivery.
I was hoping for Tuesday (a work thing), but I'll take Wednesday.
Can't imagine it takes two days to make the 5 hour drive from Rialto to Mesa, AZ!

Grr, so a label hasn't even been generated then (another member had their order number sans the last two numbers work correctly as a tracking reference).

On the bright side, maybe they're coming from local warehouses and so aren't using UPS.

These reviews aren't looking cute

To be fair they are everything I expected.

USB-C is annoying now, but will get better with time. Build is probably the best in any notebook ever. Touch Bar is a bit gimmicky and probably won't affect your workflow much but will still have its use and might also get better with time. Screens are amazing. Touch ID is amazing. Performance is on par with previous refreshes.

Knowing the pros and cons I still think it's the best available notebook purchase on the market, even if Apple could've made some better choices in some regards.

Basically, I'm very happy purchasing it.

On another note, the spreadsheet (at least the 15" US/Can page) has lost a lot of data. My line of data is gone from it and looks like many other lines.

They aren't saying anything we don't know.

1) It's expensive
2) It doesn't have legacy ports
3) It's lacking some of the horsepower some of the fastest Windows laptops have
4) The touchbar is "meh"
5) The keyboard is "love it or hate it"

Everyone knew that before they bought it. Mostly because, well;

1) Yep. But clearly, the people who bought it felt it was worth it. Moving on...
2) New cables and Dongles aren't the end of the world for us
3) It's got an insanely fast SSD and the CPU and GPU are plenty fast, 16GB of RAM is sufficient; everybody wants more power, but, the current model is very acceptable. If it had more power, I'd ve even happier with it. But to call it underpowered or anemic, at least the 13" TB and the 15" models, is unreasonable.

5) Actually, I really like it, when I played with one in the store.

I am also getting on Tuesday morning, as this will be in Louisville on Tuesday early in the morning, it takes about 3 hours from the airport to my home, I wonder how they will manage to get my macbook on Tuesday lol

Once third parties really harness the power of the touch bar, those reviews will change fast. In a year people won't know how they lived without it.

I'm glad Apple didn't decide to hold them until the 16th, mine is also out for delivery. I paid UPS $8 for a confirmed delivery window..

mine is showing as priority on the fedex page but if you look at the apple store order status page it showing express 2-3 days.

Planning to do an unboxing video. I'm VERY curious if the 15" TouchBar includes things like the extension cable.
