I suspect your right.

My track record with Apple:

iMac: It's not as powerful as my current PowerMac, which is older, you can't replace the display or add a second display, and it doesn't have any ports. It'll flop!

iPhone: My PocketPC phone is 3 years older, and does way more than that.

iPhone 3GS: Okay, it's faster, and it finally does stuff like freaking send MMS's and copy and paste, but it still has a touch-screen keyboard. I don't care what anyone says. My hardware keyboard on my fancy new Windows Mobile phone is great. I wish it worked better with my Mac's, but, that alone isn't worth giving up all this power and features for an iPhone.

iPhone 4: Dangit. That's the most gorgeous portable machine I've ever seen in my life. I have to have it. I guess I just won't use my smartphone for e-mail and such anymore.

iPhone 4 (con't): Oh. I can type twice as fast on this software keyboard. It's actually better in every way. Steve Jobs was right.

Moral of the story (and there's a lot more examples): Apple has, for my whole life, released stupid gimmicky stuff that made no sense until I used them, now, I can't live without them.

Jury is out on the touchbar, but I suspect it'll fall in line like everything else.

So there a few lucky guys with 15" models out for delivery today. When are the earliest 13" arriving? Tomorrow? :)
 
UPS105 should have taken off or will be taking off soon from Osaka, JP for Anchorage, AK. Let's hope we get a departure scan from Osaka.

I have an international shipment release, but it hasn't left Shanghai yet.

doesnt look like with my fedex i can get it changed from priority to economy since it already has shipped. thats what apple told me.

I've got to be honest, I wouldn't use a computer that went through Russia and North Korea...you have no idea what may have been done with it / added to it.

Thanks for the info. Mine has been at the local FedEx facility for almost 24 hours but has not scanned through the International Shipment Release. Assuming it will not make FedEx flight 90. At this point just hoping it makes flight 72 in about 6 hours from now.

I still have small hope for 17.-18. If it hasn't arrived by then, I'm in trouble :cool: I'll be leaving the country on the 19., travelling to NYC. There I usually get a local sim card. So when they call me for delivery next week, I can't be reached :eek: Kind of hoping the mbp will be sent with tnt as they just put the parcel in the mail and bring delivers it (happend with several iPhones thruout the years). That way I could track via app and send family to pick it up. UPS and DHL usually call to see when someone is home, or send an sms... :(

Have to see which carrier has our macbooks :)

Ditto. Mine is stuck in shanghai still waiting for release, too.
 
UPS81 is about to fly over UPS105 that is still on the tarmac in Osaka.....see you later alligator....LOL

However, UPS105 actually is scheduled to arrive about 15mins earlier into Louisville...I guess they have a faster turnaround in Anchorage.
