There is nothing pathetic about a person buying what he or she wants, regardless of whether or not you or anyone else approves. I am sure that you have purchased things that others would or have called into question. There is no need to mock someone on here like that.
You got me wrong. It is pathetic to buy something and then feeling robbed. It was his own decision. An act of free will. Right?

Anyone on this schedule? Been in Shanghai for 2 long days.

Migrating to your new MacBook Pro? You might want to check this out.

However, I'm going to use a TB3 to TB2 adapter and a thunderbolt cable to my mid-2012 MacBook Pro.

I've used Migration Assistant for several generations of MBPs, so this time I plan to make a clone of my 2013 MBP and manually install the apps and move files over in order to get a fresher start.

"And he looked upon his kingdom and wept; for there were no more worlds to conquer".

So. Many. Pixels. SO MANY. SO MANY PIXELS.

(2880x1800 15" MacBook Pro + 3140x2160 Dell 27", + 3140x2160 Dell 27")

Still awaiting a stand for the 15", and I still need to figure out something along the lines of a thunderbolt dock to reduce that from four connections (Display, Display, USB, Charge) to, hopefully, 1.

However, with this current setup; when plugged in, I am connected to that mouse and keyboard; and have access to twelve USB 3.0 Type A ports. The hub off to the right (I haven't figured out quite where to put it) and the USB ports built into the displays. By swapping one port and changing the input on the displays, I move right on over to the Windows PC.

Also just one dongle (USB-C to USB-A). Both displays are connected with a USB-C to DisplayPort cable.

EDIT: Keep in mind, the 4 year old Mac this is replacing couldn't even drive ONE of these displays at better than 30fps... This 15" is driving BOTH at 60fps, and performing flawlessly with applications like Final Cut Pro.

Thank you for clarifying. I wouldn't call it pathetic. I think he or she is merely anxious over having to sit and wait for the Mac. Feelings might change once it arrives. And if that change results in a return, that is fine.

Why is Skylake processors so great compared to the old generation?

Faster + less energy usage.

Two directions a company can go with more efficient hardware. Increase battery life, or reduce size. Apple chose the latter. Note that all companies do this; nobody still makes 4" thick laptops.

So it has the same 10 hour battery life of previous models; but is able to do it in a laptop that's razer thin, super light and very fast.
