So... Although it is still showing processing with no movement, Best Buy just told me on the phone that I should still expect to see my preorder arrive tomorrow.. We'll see Best Buy, we'll see......
Processing. They assured me it will be delivered by end of day tomorrow as well but I'm beginning to doubt that. One day away and no update? o_O

The MacBook Pro arrives at a UPS Customer Service Center near home around 6 PM tonight. Part of me believes it's best to wait until tomorrow to avoid any issues, confusion, etc. However the other part of me would like to pick it up.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Any opinion?

Aluminium does seem prone to blemishes, it's not unusual for band new Apple products to have slight differences and small marks in the aluminium. Are you sure it's a scratch and not just a smudge? Tried to get it off with something damp?

I checked it before I posted that last reply a minute ago, and now I went back and checked again, it is on the truck. It just took a while for FedEx to update it. It was only at the local facility for 7 minutes. Expected delivery between 8:25 AM - 9:25 AM.

Congrats! Were you FedEx Express or Economy?

Yep, I'm also the 17th but there is a FedEx flight from Meph to SLC later today which makes me hope they deliver tomorrow instead!

Mine has been stuck on "package available for clearance" (apparently FedEx speak for waiting to clear customs) since about 8:45 CST this morning. Yours? Hurry up and clear customs! There's two flights from there to SLC this afternoon, but they're fast approaching!

Just called Apple and added the apt num. Thanks!

Call UPS as well. I asked Apple chat to add my floor number (business address), but they didn't do it. So I called UPS on my own and had them add the floor. UPS did so without any issue, and my delivery was not delayed.

How do you know your tracking number for ship to store?

You don't. Try Track by Reference at ups.com using your phone number. I am able to pull up the tracking info for my order of power chargers I have shipping to the same store but not tracking information about my MBP. My order status shows Shipping to Store for a Nov 17 pickup though.

Any idea how long will it take to restore to 200gb worth of data (via time machine) with a USB 2.0 external hard disk? It's taking forever to back up.

IMG_5951.jpg If FedEx says "in transit" after saying "package available for clearance" does that mean it's on its way? I haven't seen a shipment release since Shanghai.

In case anyone was wondering about 13 inch w/touchbar geekbench results...

3.3Ghz Core i7
16gb ram
512gb SSD

Full results:
https://browser.geekbench.com/v4/cpu/1053978

That's an impressive score.

That's about an 8% jump from the 2.9GHz i5, and a 17% jump from the 2.0GHz i5 in the non-TB model. If you get some time to use the machine for a while today, can you provide some feedback about battery life? That's what I'm most concerned about on this model.

Exactly the same! Lets hope we make it tonight

Me too, since 8:43, but there are two FedEx plans leaving for Phoenix one at 2 and one at 3:40... I hope my MacBook Pro is on it!
