First UPS said shipping date was 11/18...
Then changed to 11/17...
But MBP got stuck at Shanghai for more than 36 hours in "export hell"...
Shipping date changed to 11/21 (sigh)...
Starting shipping out of Shanghai this morning (yay!)
And just recently shipping date changed back to 11/17!
Seriously doubt that it's going to make it from Anchorage to the east coast in the next 24 hours...

Yes, ditto! I'm not actually expecting a pickup ready message until tomorrow. Did you just walk in and ask for yours?? Mine is BTO, not a standard model.
I ordered a BTO 15" within about 45 mins of the store going online after the event and chose store pickup. Same timeline as the others who did store pickup, showed 25th originally, then changed to the 17th and "Shipping to Store" on Sunday, but no email from them yet. Hoping that maybe it's on the delivery truck to the store still and that it will still be available today.

Kinda bums me out people are just walking into the store without an order and getting custom configs already.

One day early delivered! To New England area (NH, US).
Maxed out config+British keyboard
With education pricing
Ordered approx 11:40 PST
Via FedEx From shanghai via Memphis
:):apple:
A beautiful piece of machine.
Although it's true that the keyboard and touch bar needs adjust time.
But I don't agree that the bar is not useful.
emoji on touch bar is super helpful actually.
Hope everyone gets theirs soon as well!

I haven't had any change since the Shanghai departure scan, so still the 21st for me. (I was in Shanghai export scan for over 48 hours) I'm also east coast...

If it left Shanghai around 9pm local time then it's on UPS81 and will land in Anchorage in 30 minutes or so

Still stuck :/ Hopefully it makes one of the next 2 flights or we are gonna have a late delivery

I just called FedEx again, and this time spoke to their international department. They said my package was "cleared by all agencies" this morning at 7:59 am. Fedex online tracking doesn't reflect that, but I'm glad that their internal system does. She said I should see it tomorrow. Hope this applies to the others as well!

lol. Really should have made the decision a while back rather than leaving it this late in the game. I think 512gb should suffice fine for most of the stuff I do, it was playing on my mind whether 256gb would be enough. The Non TB inspired me with hope for an upgrade at a later date. It doesn't surprise me the new SSDs are soldered in, they are with the MacBook, it's just the way Apple are moving.

As soon as I saw the reports the TB had soldered SSDs and wouldn't be able to upgrade later I thought I would definitely regret the 256gb. I've got an 16gb iPhone 5S - its totally frustrating - i don't have that much stuff on it but its permanently full. Always having to delete stuff, even so it's got to the point I can't even put any music on it! I definitely don't want this issue with a purchase I'm going to be using for a long time hopefully!

But totally agree with you. This thread is becoming an addiction! I've been reading MacRumors since around 2004ish. Been reading the Waiting for Skylake thread for more than a year prior ! Whats a few more weeks wait. It's going to be a massive jump for me from a 2010 MacBook Pro - finally I will have a retina screen lol!

Yep, about the same for me. Been a lurker for many many years and registered back in 2015. Watching this thread, and others, waiting for the miracle to happen; to upgrade my MBP mid 2012 Retina (still a gorgeous screen !).

We just have to get used to the fact that we won't be able to upgrade our computers, phone etc in future, so if you invest a lot of money, try to make sure you are prepared for tomorrow and not only the needs of today. Got the iPhone 6 myself and can imagine that by the time my awaited MBP is getting "old", we're taking pictures with our phones taking up 543TB of space each..almost...just to piss us off. I think ;). If you look at the PC's and other phone companies, it's not only Apple moving towards non-upgradeable consumer electronics. It's just a fact of moving forward we have to accept.

You did good. There's nothing more annoying than starting to delete files, weigh off what you need and what you don't need, on your brand new MBP in order to make 'space' for what you need tomorrow. You should be good for the coming years and if not, you and me (and 432mil others) just have to upgrade our iCloud accounts and sell our organs to pay for it all.

I guess we will find out in 20 minutes when the flight leaves if our packages made it!

I think UPS has a wheel that they spin to determine the delivery date. Some drunk UPS guy is saying to the guy next to him, "Joe... Joe... check dis out...")

mine is exactly looks yours guys, i am still seeing 11/21.

Looking at your scan times makes me sad, my export scan time is 9 PM, but departure time got delayed...

I am in Chicago....

it absolutely should, barring any further delays. while UPS generally doesn't get logistics right internationally, once on US soil, they're pretty good. it will fly this afternoon from Anchorage (you should get a departure scan within the hour), and then Nashville Louisville overnight, to your local airport before sunrise, then quickly to a local hub and on to a truck for delivery within a couple of hours.

I just picked up a 15" at the Kahala Apple Store and cancelled my online order. :D Everyone should be moving up one slot! ;)

Mine still says "Clearance Delay"! What's the point of online tracking if the internal systems don't match up with the external tracking interface? Sigh.
I don't think they are actually cleared because mine also says clearance delay and it just missed the flight to Utah, which is where I am at

I just got the email; my store pickup is ready a day early, 9 days earlier than the original estimate! Get ready for your email! The bummer is I can't actually pick it up tonight, too busy, but tomorrow it is!

Cool! How do you know all this? Are you a Mage or Sorcerer?
