Finally got some movement on my 15"/2.9/1TB/460/SG.

Ordered at 2PM CST on 11/7 with a delivery window of 12/14-12/20.

Order updated to P4S as of sometime last night.

Received shipment notification at 8:43 AM CST today, with an expected delivery date of 12/15 to a USA destination.

Unfortunately, I will be leaving to go out of town on the 13th, so I won't even be able to touch it until I get back... but, c'est la vie.

There will be a nice present waiting for me at home.

What gives? I ordered 15" space gray 2.9/512/460 on 11/5 and I'm still processing without a charge on my card. Shipping to NW US with edu discount.

I'm right there with ya. Ordered November 4th with edu discount. I'm in Michigan. No movement, no charge. Patiently waiting.

I think they're building in quite large batches so they'll be a load of people with similar specs who get shipped in close succession. I spoke to Apple on web chat and they couldn't provide me with any more information. I think they should be able to give a better estimate as we get closer. I'm just hoping it arrives before next Thursday, although if I don't see any movement by Saturday I think it'll be the following week. :-(

Are
Sorry, buddy. You'll get your MacBook Pro soon enough. I'm patiently waiting like yourself and I'm kinda losing my mind.
Aren't we all, and they response you get from Apple does not help. That drives me crazy.

Maybe the 512 is in higher demand...?

Just speculating... but I would expect to see movement on your order soon.

I don't know if the base 13" with 16gb ram has had issues or is just low priority but I ordered on 10th Nov and I still haven't had anything change. People who have ordered 20 days later than me have shipping estimates that are only a week behind mine.

I know there is still time for them to meet my 16th-22nd Dec window but it would be nice to get it a little early like many others on here.
I ordered same specs on 11/8. Mine just went to P4S

I ordered my 13", 3.1, 16gb, 512gb on Nov 15th, it told me 4-5 weeks and then gave me a Dec 22-28 estimate. According to my math, that is after 5 full weeks... That should be a 6-7 week estimate.

Now when you look at Apple.com, they are saying that it will take 2-3 weeks on new purchases. There's no way that is accurate. I wish their estimates were more accurate.
The 4-5 weeks is the eatimate when they can start shipping your items, the estimated datums are when they expect to deliver your items...

Apparently this config (512, 460) is the most popular according to an Apple advisor I spoke to. I ordered on 4/11 and nothing has budged on the order page, still processing.

Interesting. That would explain it but that's definitely not what I've noticed from the small percentage of people who have been posting here. With the speed of the ports, I couldn't justify $300 more for a 1 TB internal and am hoping the cost of thunderbolt 3 externals comes down.

Personally, 512GB is fine for me, I'd most likely never even use half of that.

Anyway, here's hoping we get some good news next week.

I ordered on October 28 and it hasn't even shipped yet. I have contacted Apple multiple times but they have no estimate on when it's going to ship. I'm currently thinking that it will ship in 2017, I would be surprised if I get it before christmas. I ordered a custom 15". This is super frustrating because apple has lowered their shipping estimates on their site to 2-3 weeks(lol)

Ordered on Nov 7th a 13" TB/16Gb/1TB/3.3Ghz and it shipped yesterday (Dec 7th) with delivery estimate of 14th Dec in the US.

Walked out of Best Buy with the model I wanted! Woo :)

My order was: 15", 1tb, 460, 2,9ghz.(fastest processor) The shipping estimate was 2-5 weeks.

Mines is actually a replacement, I had issues with the first one that I received on Black Friday. But I called Apple just to see when it should be shipping out and he decided to gift me a Magic Mouse 2 + USB C adapter plus he upgraded my shipping to Next Day (not sure if it's even gonna be next day when it's coming from China lol).

Hey guys! My 15", 1TB, 460, 2.7 arrived today. But it's making this strange noise that comes from the right side of the keyboard. It sounds like a little motor turning... reminds me of the sound older spinning HDs made when they would write to disk. Is this a known issue or is mine a lemon? :(

It's really annoying...

EDIT: Wow that's weird. I just picked it up, carried it across the room and the sound went away.

EDIT x2: It's because it only makes the noise when it's plugged in. Also, when I unplugged it it said it stopped encrypting my files to FileVault. So maybe the noise is from the FileVault encryption...?

EDIT x3: Turns out it was FileVault. After it finished encrypting my disk the noise went away. I didn't realize SSDs were so noisy... perhaps there is another piece of hardware at play here? I should test downloading a big file and writing it to disk and checking to see if it makes as much noise.

EDIT x4: Turns out it's not just noisy with FileVault but anytime it writes to disk. Bleh. Are all y'all SSDs this noisy? Might take it to the apple store for a replacement.

I would assume it's the fan. Maybe download smc and see if they are running fast.

SSDs shouldn't make a sound unless there is a fan or something but there are mo moving parts. Hate to say it but i would think about swapping it out. Too much money for something that's not perfect. Plus it could lead to issues down the line.
