Yes, it's always been the case that Apple will decide to stock variations of the base models that have been most popular. This would be closely tied to the fact that many pre-orders came from upgraded SSDs. It's a shame they aren't able to, for whatever reason, stock a few of the completely loaded ones (at least at first).

Indeed, wrong thread but definitely not a hardware issue. Jk73 is correct, comes from an NTP server. Apple uses their own and there are 3 to choose from in your Date & Time prefs depending on closest to your region. Heck, you can even type an alternate one in if you need to but I have never had to in 25 years. Try in a different location? Check you don't have port 123 blocked in a router firewall? Just set manually, put back on auto, and see if it sorts itself out. I've had the communication fail on rare occasions.

Finally went to P4S overnight. Still saying Pickup in store is 12/21. Charged 11/8. Hoping it will be there by Friday or Saturday so I actually have time to get it setup before I head out of town

Hi Terrance: I replied to the previous reply to you without seeing you were concerned about Maps geolocation. There is no GPS in your Mac. This is also all acquired by WiFi trilateration of all known SSIDs around you. So if you're WiFi is working, not hardware. If you have any further concerns: local Genius Bar or free AppleCare support is available to you.

That sucks. I was hoping to see yours move as well. Maybe call up and see if you can get more information. I spoke to someone last night and they hinted quite heavily that something would change over night. I don't know if they have access to the queues or schedules, but I'm amazed our machines aren't in the same batch... unless geography has something to do with it. I'm in the UK.
 
Any FedEx mavens out there? I hope I won't find my computer on Midway Island with Tom Hanks and WILSON!!!

I'm in Toronto. Just hoping the reserve since Nov 27 was cancelled by MasterCard and not Apple. I'll call Apple, again, this afternoon. I got a free sleeve and expedited shipping (?) on previous calls. Maybe I'll get a free USB 3 to USB dongle now! The free sleeve was delivered 2 weeks ago.

It's set to local time. That's why it looks crazy. You can change it to show your destination time then it would make more sense.

I talked to B&H and they said "when we get it we'll send it out to you"......really?????
come on B&H how about a little more info!!!

I haven't heard back from our sales rep yet, so I think I will call Apple directly. What number/department did you folks call to get expedited shipping?

If your product has already shipped then they may not be able to expedite it. Thats what I was told for my order unfortunately... that once the order has been shipped they cannot make any changes to it.

I think that might literally be the only info they had to give you..
 
I just called Apple and the very nice rep told me that the estimated shipping date on her side was Dec 20th, which is no good for me as our offices close on the 23rd for 2 weeks. She told me she can't change to in-store pickup but she is going to put a note in to see if it can be expedited and/or change the shipping to express. The 20th is exactly 6 weeks and 1 day after ordering, which is crazy. My other option is to put a hold on the order until after January 9th.
