Ordered a SG MBP 15" 2.6/460/512gb on Dec. 27th, Vermont, US via Apple.com. Delivery estimate was Jan 18-26 and I got notification of preparing to ship/shipping today, estimated delivery of the 16th.

I have been lurking since I submitted the order and wanted to share, I'm hoping it's a sign that a mass shipment arrived for a lot of people. Good luck to everyone and enjoy your new machines!

How long was it in the "preparing for shipment" phase before it shipped?

How long was yours in the "preparing for shipment" phase before it shipped?

It was "preparing for shipment" on Monday night around 9pm and it shipped Tuesday morning around 9am when I checked again so I would say around 12 hours. However, the tracking number that I got yesterday morning is still not coming up on TNT's website after 24 hours so I guess the consignment number has been generated but it hasn't been scanned so far at any TNT location. Keeping fingers crossed for Friday delivery as per the status page!

Mid Dec Order, won't arrive till almost March. Punishment for ordering top spec? Might cancel my order, need a computer now...

3 months for delivery! That's ridiculous! Did you get 12 weeks estimate at the time of ordering? That's serious demand and supply gap. Looks like the new MBP is doing better than what Apple anticipated.

I ordered top spec 15 in space grey on 19th December, am using it now.

I see you have the same spec as mine - 2.9GHz i7, 16GB RAM, 2TB. Is it with 460? Did you get it pre-installed with 10.12.2 or one of the earlier release? Have you done any benchmarking yet?

I am still waiting for mine but would love to see benchmark with 10.12.1 and 10.12.2 if there is any performance difference.

My order was at 2-3 weeks for a week and then changed to 6-8 and has been stuck there with dates being pushed out for some time

I don't think it's due to sales, but other issues like the 2tb drive supply or maybe setting else

Where are you located?

EDIT: Just saw, Bangkok, it shouldn't be that big of a difference from AU to BK for an order.
Agree

Ordered a SG MBP 15" 2.7/460/512gb on Dec 28, prepared to ship last night around 9pm, shipped this morning. Original estimate was Jan 20-30.

Do you have a delivery estimate? I ordered the same model on Jan 8th with estimate of 30th Jan-7th Feb.

It appears to be the Radeon Pro 460. If you go configure a MBP on the Apple website, upgrading storage or the processor only causes the shipping to slip a few extra days. If you upgrade the graphics card, it'll slip an extra 1-2 weeks from the stock model ship date.

It's a combination. The 460 pushes it back a couple of weeks, the 2TB pushes it back way further. My 460/1TB is set to deliver the 13th. Ordered on Christmas.

I'm also in London, and I ordered a 2.9/460/1TB on Dec 27 with original estimate 18 Jan - 25 Jan. My order was shipped 10 Jan, with a 16 Jan delivery date apparently - still hoping it's a bit earlier. I am getting it delivered to an apple store though so don't know if that changes anything.

Is 460, I am running the macOS beta release, purely because I needed to to restore from my old MBP.

any scratches when ug ot it?
No scratches, no dents or marks, perfection out of the box!

So how accurate are the delivery dates. I want to order a 15" 2.6/512/460. Right now it says delivery is Feb 6th- Feb 13th. The thing is I don't want the machine to arrive before Feb 6th as I am traveling until then and don't want the box sitting with my building's concierge too long.

I ordered a 2.6/512/460 on the December 22 around 8pm eastern time. Delivery date was originally was January 16-24. Credit card was charged on January 9 and my delivery date is tomorrow January 13th. Hopes this helps

Right now it is anyone's guess. Historically Apple's tended to beat their shipping estimates, but for the nMBP they've been all over the shop, especially if your order includes either the 460 or the 2TB storage option. Those who ordered max specs seem to be getting the most amount of variation.
