I hope the Cubs win tonight just so the series continues.

Folks,

We have a Series!

Chapman was the bomb! The guy was so calm that he smirked/laughed at his own bad pitches and bad at bats. He looked like he was first in line at the pizza place and ready to order a pitcher of beer.

The only time I have seen somebody so calm in the highest pressure situations was madbum pitching for the Giants or their skipper, Bruce Bochy.

Chapman was pitching for the first World Series "W" in the history of Wrigley and it was as if he was just pitching a preseason game.

If the Cubs make it late into game 6 with a lead, I don't expect Chapman to blow it. Game 7, regardless of winner, would make this a classic for the ages as a team with over a century without a trophy goes against one with nearly 7 decades without one. I thought seeing the 2010 Giants winning after a 56 year drought was the longest in memory while at the time the most unexpected. A few years ago, who in their right mind
would have thought the Cubs AND Indians would be the last two standing?

Well, it's not really that bad. They even said on the broadcast that the Cubs won game 6 of the 1945 World Series at Wrigley. I imagine that they won a game there in the 1932 series also. I don't believe that they have won the final game of a World Series at Wrigley. The 1907 and 1908 Cubs had not moved into the "new" stadium, as I recall hearing the story told before. Or, at least, they won the final games on the road.

Then it's not as bad, but still, 1945?

It had to feel really good for the Cubs.

For me, a non-Cubs fan, I want to see this thing go all the way to 7 games, as I hope for in all Series not including my team. Somebody is going to be very happy at the end of all of this, but at the same time the loser will have been in the World Series, which for either one is not a common thing in that right.

You have teams in sports out there that go to championships and have hall of fall players and it's probably common for Green Bay Packers, Los Angeles Lakers, New York Yankees, and other teams who think that getting there is expected at the very least every few years.

Way down the line it would be nice to see at least one player from each of these squads end up in Cooperstown.

I hope the Indians can finish this up in Game 6. I don't ever want to see the Cubs win a World Series in my life time.

Fun fact: The Indians have won more televised World Series games in Wrigley Field than the Cubs.

Well, it was one of the longest "droughts" in American pro sports. I imagine it felt even better for fans who were pulling for the Cubs before some or even all of the current players on the team were born.

The Cardinals fanbase is notoriously pathetic.

And I'm a White Sox fan.

Yeah, I get that, but still.

And I'm that way about certain teams, Dodgers, Yankees, Mets ... and any expansion can bite me. ;)

But the Cubbies drought... that needs to end.

As a Giants fan I wish the A's no ill will.

As a Raider fan I kinda like the 49ers too...

I hope the Indians win tonight, for I am sick and tired of Detroit Tigers fans posting in the Detroit News that the Tigers play in the "Worst" division in the American League. I don't see how the last 3 years a team from the A.L. Central has made it to the World Series can be considered the worst division in the A.L. ?

What is with the bad managing? Holy crap...... Hendricks was solid after that rocky 3rd. Two strikes get called balls and ends up walking one person with 2 outs and Maddon pulls him for Lester who gets a bad break with a weakly hit ball, but Ross toss's the ball away and then Lester tosses a ball away and scores 2......

What a game, what a series. Congrats Cubs.

Maddon, please go back to managing school..... You almost blew it.

Tied through 10 innings, then.....

RAIN DELAY.

Mother Nature is just mean. :p

A big gratz to the Cubs for winning the World Series . First time in 108 years.

Now.. put back on that damn episode of Transformers that I missed because they preempted it for a Cubs game! :p
